Skype 1.4.0.35 (Mac OS X)
I've been using Skype on Mac OS X for quite some time now and while there are still some minor bugs all the main features work flawlessly. I've been using Skype Out a long time now and am about to cancel my normal fixed phone because I just don't need it anymore. Skype In has allowed me to link up Skype with the normal phone system and that too works perfectly. Voice quality is excellent when doing skype to skype calls, skype in and skype out quality is what I'd call "lower mobile phone" standard. Definitely room for improvement there but usually it's not a problem. Now if they'd integrate video chat for Mac OS X and work on the voice quality I'd be very happy. BTW, Skype works fine with both a bluetooth headset and a logitech usb headset. [alert admin]

HP Scanjet 3500c series 5.1.1 (Mac OS X)
what's going on but for me this version of the Scanjet software works flawlessly with my HP 3530c on 10.2.3 and now also 10.2.4! Only thing you should disable is the scanjet application running in the background since it seems to eat up cpu power after a while. And since this software is only necessary to make the buttons on the scanner work (which I never use anyways) it's quite unnecessary to have running. I didn't expect this scanner to work so perfectly under OS X and was already calculating in the buy of VueScan to make it work. To my surprise all (and there's quite a lot) the software included is really nice and absolutely adequate to get the results you want. I don't feel that I wasted a single euro-cent on this scanner! Thumbs up to HP! [alert admin]

it's called a challenge ... how long can you resist not to restart due to a software update ... Practical use is zero but it's still kinda fun ... for geeks 8-) [alert admin]
