Microsoft Office 2008 12.1.5 (Mac OS X)
This is the first upgrade that installed without a hitch, but I found no speed improvement in Entourage. The first time I launch it in the morning takes around 25 seconds to be up and running, whereas Word takes only 5 seconds. There are still problems with Entourage not accepting my birthdate in the personal section, where it changes it to another date. Go figure! I am not a MS fan! [alert admin]

It crashes on my G4 running MacOS 10.4.9 upon launch. Have re-installed it several times, but no luck. Any suggestions appreciated. [alert admin]

LaCie Update Tool 1.4.2 (Mac OS X)
Found my HD and indicated that it needed to be updated. After clicking OK, nothing happened. Why does LaCie release updates that don't work? [alert admin]

HP PSC 2400 7.9 (Mac OS X)
Where does the version # 7.9 show up? Each file in the various folders, after the download, has a diferent version #, but none have the version # of the download file. Also, the Photosmart Studio apps, do not work om my Quicksilver Mac running MacOS 10.4.7. [alert admin]

Aladdin Internet Cleanup 1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Why is it necessary to enter your serial number twice? Once to pick it up from their web-site, and the second time to re-install it. Why could it not automatically update the app? [alert admin]

I have been using Speed Download for some time now and I really appreciate the speed improvements in SD 2. I think it is a great product even though a number of peopple are concerned about the cost of this upgrade. I explained my situation to YazSoft and they sent me a registration code for SD 2. The difference in downloading time for a 4.4 MB file between SD 2 and SD 1.9.9 is one second. SD 2 is one second faster and for that YaSoft wants $20. I don't think so! Run the tests and determine for yourself if that charge is reasonable. I'll stick with 1.9.9 for now or until YaSoft comes to its senses and recognizes the value of its former customers. I totally agree! I also have been a beta tester for Micromat during a time when the company cared more about their customers. I am appalled at their present business practices in charging for very minor updates to their software. Hope that top brass at Micromat are listening, but I have my doubts! Such is the arrogance of greed.
