Sigh....Moto Razr is such a popular phone...
...alas it is so frustrating they have not added support for that phone yet in these plugins. Oh well. Lots of Razr users out there...so adding plugins for it would sure be a BIG plus. <hint> <hint> [alert admin]

Life2Go 1.6.4 (Mac OS X)
Email Kainjow your complaints!!!
I recently sent this email to both Kainjow and Prosoft: "I just wanted to follow what many others have been angry about. I think it is great you have joined in with Jax development and things are growing for you there. But for those of us who have purchased and supported Pod2Go, then Life2Go...leaving us with no fully functional version of the application we paid for is unforgivable. Offering a discount on a yet to be released Jax doesn't make that OK. You left us all with a beta version, that still had issues and that I had to uninstall because of an ongoing bug this app had and have no version to reinstall. So I am now without the program at all. You give third party Mac developers a bad name and I am mobilizing with other former Life2Go users to spread the word of these practices and BAN Jax when it is released on the matter of principle if nothing else. It is a completely unreputable way to do business. The developer who created CoverFlow released an updated and complete version of that software, before it became Apple's. That was the proper way to do it." I received this response from Prosoft: "Hello Erick, I've read your email below and I wanted to address some of your concerns and complaints-- Please note that we will be posting the following on our website shortly: Attention Life2Go users Prosoft Engineering, Inc. has obtained non-exclusive rights to integrate some of Life2Go functions into our upcoming Jax® product. Unfortunately, Prosoft Engineering did not acquire the entire Life2Go application and therefore has no ability nor rights to address any issues or distribute new versions of Life2Go (which is a product from Kainjow LLC). Jax® is a completely different application and contains many more features than Life2Go. Prosoft will be offering an exclusive upgrade path for any Life2Go owners when Jax® ships in the next few weeks. If you are having problems with Life2Go and need technical assistance, please contact kainjow@kainjow.com That is, Prosoft is licensing some of the code from Kainjow, who makes a product called Life2Go. Prosoft is licensing some of this code as a way to add some of that functionality to our new product, Jax® --- Kainjow maintains all rights to their code and can indeed still sell and develop their product, Life2Go. However, from their website it looks like Kainjow is discontinuing their support and development of Life2Go (which is out of the hands of Prosoft). I am not sure why Kainjow has decided to abandon that and we have indeed called Kainjow looking for a response. I expect to hear from them shortly on that-- We have expressed the same concerns that you have, in abandoning their customers... Cheers, Gordon" I encourage ALL of you to email Kainjow and complain about these practices! I really appreciate Prosoft's response and hope the best for their app's development, but Kainjow has screwed all of us who purchased and used his application! Email him and complain to kainjow@kainjow.com [alert admin]

ScreenSteps 1.0b19 (Mac OS X)
Simple...VERY Helpful, great App ![]()

I do an awful lot of remote troubleshooting for clients on both Macs and PCs. I downloaded and have been trying this app for sending instructions to them on how to do various things, that they always seem to forget. This app has worked great! Prior to this I was screen capturing using the Mac built in feature, going into Preview to crop, taking them into something else to add circles, pointers, etc. and finally either sending them a PDF or building it into an email. What a pain and time consuming. I used this app all day today and it worked great. I was pounding out instructions left and right in a fraction of the time. My only real suggestion would be to add some other options for highlighting items, like a filled highlight box (like a yellow highlighter) and arrows, but being able to edit highlights after I have drawn them would be great too! Since you can export to PDF and HTML, another thought would be the ability to also do short screen capture movies. That would really be cool! Be able to add both pictures and movies. Just a thought as you develop this. Anyway, keep up with this app, I really like it! [alert admin]

SafariStand 2.0b16 (Mac OS X)
Hmmm.....having some slow down issues too
I have actually been using the different versions of this program for a while now...I have always really liked it, but the current version and previous version started to adversely affect my Safari. I just noticed a great deal of lag time in loading pages. I had Saft also loaded at the time too. So I first completely uninstalled Saft thinking it was the culprit. Now I was just running SafariStand alone and was still having really bad lag time in page loading. So much so...I felt like I was back on 28.8 dialup. So I then completely uninstalled SafariStand and everything has been back to normal. I really hope this is something that can be fixed....I really like this add-on! [alert admin]

I would like to apologize to the Mariner developers, I think my passion got the best of me and my previous review just did not come across right. I want to applaud the developers of Montage for committing to even make such a software for a Mac-only platform. I always want to applaud them for being standup developers who are working hard on this app. My passion and love for this tool and what I know it can be and where the developers can take it maybe got the best of me. To that end, I HIGHLY recommend this app, not because it is perfect now, but the developers are a great example of how we as Mac users have some of the best developers around and I know Montage, in the coming days, months and years will truly have Windows based screenwriter's wanting to own a Mac. Montage 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)
I have to agree with others... ![]()

I completely have to agree with another poster on here and this is also something I posted a while back on the Montage forum. I like the idea of this program and I think it could have a promising future, but the developers should never have slapped a 1.0 on this and a price tag yet. This should still be in beta or development mode. I said this before and I will say it again: MONTAGE DEVELOPERS - NO ONE WRITES A SCRIPT IN A FRIGGIN VACUUM!!!! Your importing and exporting functions still are terrible and unreliable. If you develop a competing product to a well established one, IE - Final Draft, you better make sure and I MEAN SURE, it can deal in a Final Draft world. Take a lesson from Apple. They are becoming a viable alternative to Windows to many more people everyday. WHY? Because they are continually making it handle a Windows world better and better. Two elements should have been incorporated in Montage from day 1 - a solid import of Final Draft documents and a solid export. There is STILL no ability to to even handle scene numbers and when you import a FD document with them, they are gone in Montage. Then I ask you, what the hell do people do with scripts written in this program??? Ok, so you are done, but people wanting to go into production are going to need scene numbers, they are going to need to be able to use Tagger for breakdowns and then import it into Scheduling and Budgeting - ALL OF THIS REQUIRES A FINAL DRAFT VERSION!!! What you have built for someone is a program that will do nothing for them but allow them to finish a script and save it to their computer. The export to RTF and then into Final Draft is a disaster. To me, the ability to deal in an industry that is all about Final Draft is the MOST important feature for a screenwriting software. NO ONE investigating a good screenwriting software for the Mac should even consider this software until they implement this needed feature. As it sits, the software is a nice looking, but overpriced, worthless word processing software. [alert admin]

...this really does noticeably drag down your computer. I have tested it on 2 units I have, a MacBook Pro, 2.16 Intel, 2 gig ram and a PowerMac Duo G5 2.0 with 4 gigs ram. Both units have 256megs on the videocard and both started to perform like quicksand when I was going through the effects for this plugin. Since getting my MacBook Pro I have had no issues in results to it slowing down, even doing complex editing it is still responsive and peppy. The same goes for the G5. The odd thing is, this plugin continues to make the machines slightly lethargic even after I turned off the effects. Once I closed iChat, it slowly came back to normal status. So this plugin is really sucking up the resources. I appreciate and applaud the developers for their creativity, but the resource needs alone for this have turned me off of this fun plugin. Though I am excited to use such abilities in iChat, like desktop sharing, movie sharing, presentations or photo sharing I will hold out for Leopard next year and see how Apple implements such abilities into iChat. If a way could be found to make this plugin tighter and work more efficiently and optimized and not as taxing it would be a fun plugin to have for the money, but at this point, when even Apple's top of the line laptop, one that runs Motion quite well, starts to crawl when using it....to me that is not good. MediaCentral 2.0 (Mac OS X)
This is a cool app with lots of possibilities, BUT really needs to work with the developer of Remote Buddy to add a behavior in that app. Remote Buddy is such a cool application that supports more than just the Apple Remote and helps you use Media Center and other applications with the remote. If they would add support to that then you would really have something! [alert admin]
