OpenOffice.org 3.0 (Mac OS X)
http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/. Look in the directory for RC4, the same version was released as final. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 3.0b (Mac OS X)
I installed it, rebooted, etc., but couldn't get it to launch. Thank goodness it has an uninstaller, I was able to return to Safari 2 with no problems. In fact, I reinstalled beta a second time (again no luck) and uninstalled it again. I'll wait until a new beta comes around. P.S. Similar problems reported over at MacFixit by several users. Be prepared for some frustration with this version. [alert admin]

iGTD 1.3.4.2 (Mac OS X)
I don't usually get excited much about a new application, but this app is really sweet. The initial features are solid, the developer rolls out incremental updates quickly, and the feature list grows each time. There's no doubt this task management tool will quickly become my favorite computer app. If you don't have it, get it. If you don't understand it, buy Dave Allen's Getting Things Done book. PocketMac for BlackBerry 4.0 (Mac OS X)
I've used PocketMac Blackberry for quite a while, initially on a PPC machine and now on my MacBook. Version 4.0 does not work reliably; it hangs often especially when sync-ing my calendar file. Every once in a while I can get it to perform a full sync, but most of the time it doesn't. I wrote to the folks at PocketMac but they ducked the questions. To date, there's no sign that either they or RIM acknowledge that this product doesn't yet work well enough for business use. [alert admin]

If you are interested in cross-platform compatibility with Mac iChat, then you might want to pass of this product. According to a message from their tech support today (April 9, 2006) "Trillian is having difficulties communicating with iChat at the moment." We have spent several months trying to get the two products to talk with each other. Tech support didn't bother to tell us that they knew the products weren't working with one another. Only after we reached a frustration point, did we get this information. It came only after they told us to take our business elsewhere. Strange way to work. [alert admin]

VPN Tracker 4.1 (Mac OS X)
VPN tracker reset all references to our company domains to IPs that are relevant only when you are connected. It didn't release them on disconnect. Uninstalling didn't work nor did the company's uninstall application. A diligent search for preferences, etc. doesn't reveal where the problem lies. Requests for tech support from the company have not been answered and the company rarely is available to answer phone calls. They also don't return phone messages. Use this product with caution. If it works for you that's great, but if it doesn't you may have some real difficulty. [alert admin]

They don't even bother with Universal binary
They do support PPC. Several folks have so noted and provided links to the web site where you can get it.
