Firefox 3.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Finally!

I've only tried this for a few minutes but it is just as fast as Safari now. Version 2 was horrid & I don't care what anyone says here. I kept hearing how wonderful Ver. 2 FF was and never understood wth they were talking about. Version 3 ACTUALLY has auto fill for the address bar!!! OMG! Only took 2 years to get it applied. Gee! I think I may use this more than Safari now given the safety factor. [alert admin]

Firefox 2.0.0.14 (Mac OS X)

Why Would Anyone Even Try This?

FF is the slowest browser, with no auto-fill of web addresses, and if you don't type in the .com or .org or .net in the addy, does it figure it out for you? NO! It sends you to Google even though the address is in my bookmarks. Why bother with this POS? Back in OS 9 it was nice to use Mozilla but now, even with the tweaks available online to SUPPOSEDLY speed it up, it still crawls on a Dual 2.0 G5, 6.5 GB ram and DSL. I won't be updating anytime soon until they fix what was wrong in 2.0. LACK OF SPEED. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS 8.6 8.6 (Mac OS 9)

Problem is....

...when you come to MANY sites nowadays using old OS'es like 8.5, you can't even see the page to get downloads! This includes VT!!! Fortunately my os x machine can handle all that and then I can pass the downloads to the 8.5 machine via my network. [alert admin]

Sub2Srt 0.9 (Mac OS X)

If the Developer is Reading this...

Please update your contact info as this is the only .sub conversion app "out there" and I'm having problems. The developer's site is down and email is not working either. Thanks! [alert admin]

teleport 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Thumbs up

I've been using version 1.0 for a while and it is indeed a good product to get around 3 monitors attached to 2 Macs. Now if it was only possible to retro fit this to OS 9 for my 3rd comp that has to stay in that era, I'd be in "heaven"! =) [alert admin]

Cyberduck 2.8.4 (Mac OS X)

Works Great

...and I'll probably switch from Fetch to Cyberduck. Absolutely no issues so far using it to move large files to and from my FTP folders. [alert admin]

SafariBlock 1.3 (Mac OS X)

Does Work

I wrote to the author when I couldn't block flash ads on my G5 and could with my G4. He sent me a couple different versions to try out and one day a new version came in my email and it worked perfectly. Excellent support! [alert admin]

Temperature Monitor 4.2 (Mac OS X)

Excellent Software AND Support

I had a question as to the maximum safe limits of my G5 and Dr. Marcel Bresink replied quickly and completely answered my questions. I highly recommend Temperature Monitor as one processor on my Dual G5 hit a high of 190F and that caused me some worry which I am now investigating. [alert admin]
