iTunes-LAME Encoder 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I love this little program. I couldn't use version 2.0.0, but this one is great. I used the previous Applescript version, and I think this Cocoa version is better. Thanks, and great job! [alert admin]

Samba 2.2.7a (Mac OS X)
language capitalizes "i" in the respective language. In German, ich isn't capitalized for instance. Maybe this person is not used to English as his/her main language. In your sentence, for example, "someones" is possessive and should have an apostrophe. DJ: thanks for the information. I always wondered what the difference was. [alert admin]

Microsoft Office v.X 10.1.1 (Mac OS X)
comical. I'll rate this when I can review it. I tried installing, but it gave me privileges errors and then didn't install. I tried again, and libraries were missing, so I read the note about the MS Component Plugin (I was mucking about with file ownerships and the Disk Utility). I copied that from the original CD, but still no joy. Then, being the bright guy that I am, I decided to re-install SR-1. This trashed all of my programs. Ooops. So now I'm reinstalling from scratch. Pretty funny, eh? [alert admin]

to use VLC (v0.4.4.) on SVCDs for some time now. On my 600 MHz iBook, 550 TiBook and 350 Sawtooth (w/Radeon), I cannot get most of the SVCDs to play without skipping. I ran the demo of MacVCD (with QTMPEG2), and it plays great without a hitch (although not as "pristine" on the iBook as the other two). I'm a VLC fan, but it's pokey. It will not play a DVD well on my iBook, for example. I hope VLC will get access to Apple code in the future to optimize it, but it's not 100% usable for me right now. I'm seriously thinking of getting this. [alert admin]

HP DeskJet 2.0e (Mac OS X)
my issue with my DJ1220c + JetDirect 175x I had under Jaguar. It was previously working under 10.1.5, but broke with 10.2. Now it's fixed again. I'm happy, but the HP Utilities still only looks for a USB connection, not ethernet. [alert admin]

say I like this program a lot-- it's pretty much exactly what I've been looking for. I could have used this for free, but I like to pay for stuff I like and use to say "thanks" and to keep encouraging the good work. [alert admin]

Netscape Communicator 4.7.9 (Mac OS 9)
4.x DIE. Lord-Chin: I'm not sure what you're talking about. Netscape 4.x's rendering bugs are legendary. I only use this version (4.x) to make sure that *something* is being rendered. ALL my pages are HTML 4.01 + CSS compliant. For more compliant browsers out there, I recommend iCab, Mozilla, Opera, Netscape 6.2, even IE. For OSX, there's Omniweb, even though that has its own problems. Go talk to Codeb!tch over at www.macedition.com. Please, don't design to Netscape 4.x, and let it die the cyberdeath it deserves.
