NetNewsWire 3.1b23 (Mac OS X)

The Lite Version is excellent

I used to use the paid-for version but transferred my license to Windows (Gator) for my sins but couldn't transfer it back once I was able to work fulltime on my MacBook Pro again so I use the Lite version. The Lite version worked fine on Leopard from the start and this new version is so much better than the last. [alert admin]

Like it

I'm still in the trail but I have to say that this is the best of the 'tweaking' programs I've seen on any OS. Very well laid out, comprehensive, easy to use and powerful. I've used lots of these tools and I'm used to changing OS settings and have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing so I haven't tried every option (very few of them, in fact) but those I did worked as expected. One word of advice to anyone using this (or any product of its type) for the first time is, "don't go mad and change lots of settings that look interesting but you have no idea what they do". If you do this you could mess your system up, or at least make it far from how Apple provided it to you. [alert admin]

Eve Online 4.10.51200 (Mac OS X)

Flakey

Whilst the game looks interesting and very pretty the new Mac client went bonkers during initial character creation twice, once I was able to quit out, the other time I had to kill it externally. When I was just getting into the game going through the latter parts of the tutorial it crashed but when I went back in the tutorial had gone. I'd had enough by that point and went back to playing WoW. I'll try it again when they issue the inevitable patch as long as it's within the 14 days of the free trial (or they give me a new trail). I'm using Leopard on a MacBook Pro, BTW. [alert admin]

UNO 1.5.1 (Mac OS X)

Does what it says

This software installed cleanly and I find the overall effect on the appearance of OS X to be subtly but significantly improved. The most noticeable changes are I find is that Carbon apps (like Office 2004) now smoothly integrate with the newest Cocao apps. All the open windows share the same appearance and UI, which makes for a more pleasant and 'clean' experience when using many apps and windows. And it's free :) [alert admin]
