Don's Calorie Tracker 1.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Demo mode

I would agree with you. I haven't even downloaded the demo yet, and I might not, now. I buy a lot of software, but only after I have tried the programs out thoroughly. To keep myself organized, I keep a desktop folder of programs I want to try out, and I try out a lot of programs. I give each one a good workout in the order that I downloaded them. I don't feel that I can download this one, because it would go to the bottom of my list and would most likely time out before I even try it out, because there are about eight programs ahead of it. Since I don't feel I can download it right now, I will probably not remember to download it later, and by then, other programs will have "gotten in line" anyway. Three days is way, way too short a time even if I started today. I would have to use this program for a couple of weeks to see if I want to continue using it. Anything shorter would not give me a good enough "feeling" for the program. Marla [alert admin]

LapCop 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Wonderful customer service!

I am quite impressed with the swift and helpful response I got when I emailed a few questions today. I base the majority of my expenditures on customer service; I don't care how wonderful a product is...if customer service isn't there, my dollars aren't either. I feel that the household license is quite generous also. There are 4 laptops in my household, and buying four separate licenses would be pretty expensive, but this household license is wonderful. I hope I am never in a position to find out if LapCop REALLY works or not, but if I ever find one of these laptops stolen, the money I spent is very minimal if it even gives the tiniest chance at recovering the machine! Fast in more ways than one!

I have used this product since version 1.0. I have been very pleased, and I assure you that the cost of updating to version 2 is well worth the investment! The program has NEVER crashed and has given steadily reliable results. It is, quite frankly, FAST. But even more impressive than the speed of the product is the speed of customer service. Tonight I emailed customer service about a minor problem I experienced with a multli-user license. The response came back so FAST that I was sure I had reached an auto-responder. I emailed back and asked whether or not this was a human being, since the answer had come just nanoseconds after I send my request. Well, it WAS a human being! I am impressed beyond words. I would have lost a bet on that particular outcome, let me tell you! I would give customer service 10 stars if I could... Marla Oxley [alert admin]

I'd sure like…

to try this out, but I have downloaded it every time, both 1.2.9 and 1.3 and Stuffit gives me a "corrupt file" error every single time. That hardly every happens to me... [alert admin]
