Movies Database 1.09 (Mac OS X)
It sounded like a full featured database and I'm sure it is, but the interface was so bad as to render the entire thing useless. [alert admin]

DivX Doctor II 2.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
Handy program, works on most AVIs. I've been using the previous version for a while. The only difference I've noticed in the new version is that drag and drop no longer works. 10.4.2 w/ all updates. Thanks for a great program and for making it avaiable for free. [alert admin]

HCFA-1500 Fill & Print 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Basically, this program takes a .jpg image of a HCFA-1550 and superimposes the fields to fill in. You can get RealBasic for $99 and create this in an hour. This product should sell for $25. For $199, it should at least auto total the charges for you. But, it really should have some basic database to it. Perhaps as simple as integrated with address book. Click on a contact and choose HCFA-1500 from the AppleScript menu. Launches HCFA-1500 with the appropriate fields filled in. If you really need this, ask a graphic designer with Acrobat to create a pdf with fields or if you have Office, get Easy HCFA for $60. Nice try to fill in a missing void, but too expensive for too little. [alert admin]

FruitMenu 3.2.1 (Mac OS X)
I don't use FruitMenu, but I've looked at it and I would think that you could click File/Folder from the list of AppleMenu choices and add Hard Drive:System:CoreServices:Software Update Then drag it just below "About this Mac" Other that displaying the icon, it should be exactly the same. BTW, I posted this response a few weeks ago, but for some reason it didn't post -- Ed [alert admin]

Repair Disk Utility's Permissions 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Apple already provides a GUI for this function: How about just selecting Disk Utility in the FInder and in the Get Info panel, select System, R&W, Admin, R&W, Read only, from the five pull down menus in the Owners and Privilieges subsection? Of course, you'll need to have administrator priviliges and you may have to log out and back in. However, this will work, whereas the permissions on this app might be out of wack from unstuffing and then you wouldn't be able to launch it. [alert admin]

Hide From Dock 1.2 (Mac OS X)
The only thing that would make it perfect was a hide others option. Thanks. [alert admin]

MacTFTP Client 1.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
are right. We shouldn't have to pay for it. We should continue to complain to Linksys and have they pay for a licensed copy with each router. However, the product works great and is well supported and deserves to be recognized by paying the small shareware fee. [alert admin]

You can easily add the fruit menu lost "Software Update" that Panther installs. In the FruitMEnu PrefPane, under the Apple Menu tab, click "File/Folder." Navigate to "Hard Drive:System:Library:CoreServices:Software Update" add that application and put it wherever you like. Best of both worlds.
