MesaSQLite 1.5.2 (Mac OS X)

Connect to a database on your machine or over the internet?

I cannot figure out how to connect to an internet database. "Open Database" just brings up an file open box. Am I missing something? [alert admin]

Logitech QuickCam 8.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Logitech with iChat

This driver works well with iChatUSBCam for iChat video conferencing. As another reviewer mentioned, there are also a variety of open source and 3rd party driver alternatives if this driver causes problems. [alert admin]

DownloadComment 1.0 (Mac OS X)

What gets installed...

Hi. Some people are curious to know what the installer does: It does not modify the system, it just installs some files. The files it installs are at: /Library/InputManagers/Ecamm It uses the same proven Ecamm Plugin loader as iChatUSBCam, iChatter, and other Ecamm plugins. [alert admin]

(Version 1.3.2)

Made the switch because Entourage crapped out on me. I added all of the Rule items that I had in Entourage and it is now "evaluating rules" at an average speed of 1 message per second. Argh slow. Other than that, it seems to be coming up to a usable level with this latest (Panther) release. [alert admin]

Chicken of the VNC 1.3.6 (Mac OS X)

Faster but sub-standard Mac app

This seems to be faster than VNCThing, but has a baffling list of things that are just plain missing: 1) No Key commands! Missing Apple-Q, Apple-N, Apple-F (Full screen) 2) Does not remember saved passwords 3) No bookmarks. Additionally, I had to hunt through newsgroups and turn off ZRLE to get it to connect without error. Key mapping is a cool idea, but it would be nice to be able to map the Apple key to, well, the Apple key. (A la Virtual PC, VNCThing, etc.) [alert admin]

iChatUSBCam 1.0b1 (Mac OS X)

G4 required

At this point it appears that the G4 requirement still holds. We'll see what we can do about that in future updates. [alert admin]

"Where from" metadata change?

Hi: Safari only puts wherefrom data into files downloaded through the Downloads window. DownloadComment puts in (wherefrom metadata and finder comment) to files saved in other ways such images dragged out of Safari. -Ken

Is there any need for this software any more?

Also, only certain UVC webcams are supported natively. iChatUSBCam is still needed to use any cameras that require macam or other 3rd party drivers. -Ken
