formZ 5.0 (Mac OS X)

formZ 5.0

Many new features with this new version, and the new architecture of the program allows for great expansion. Profesional level modeler for architects. I use PowerCADD 6.2 for 2D work. [alert admin]

formZ RadioZity 4.0g1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

formZ 4.0g

FormZ is not an easy program. Once learned though I feel it is the strongest 3D modeler around. It has excellent rendering capabilities. It is a great professional tool. I am sure porting the program to Mac OS X has been quite difficult because of its basic complexity. Where there are problems, I am more than willing to be patient for the fixes. If you NEED the program for paying projects early adoption of the gamma version might not be a good idea. However, it is usable now, and quite stable. From what I have read in the Users Forum, in talking with the technical support staff, and in using the program itself, I feel auto•des•sys is making a conscientious effort to move the program to Mac OS X. They have done a great job so far. [alert admin]

First Gamma Version Patch

Going to the auto•des•sys website you can get the first patch issued for the formZ 4.0 modeling software. An Adobe Acrobat Reader file there lists the issues addressed in this update. The process to install the patch isn't entirely clear but wasn't hard to figure out. The patch ran great and I haven't had any problems so far with the program. I feel the auto•des•sys team working on formZ 4.0 have done an excellant job with the first issue of the program, a gamma version. It is quite stable and usable, and where it has problems they are working hard to make the corrections. [alert admin]

install and reboot. Updates are bug fixes and extension of capabilities to hardware. Your mileage may vary. [alert admin]
