iComic 3.0.3 (Mac OS X)

Renewed interest?

Those still interested in iComic can find plugins and discussion here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/iComic_group/ iComic is open source and the source code can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/icomic/ If you are a developer please consider picking up it's development (no development has been done for nearly 5 years) and restore it to the great app it was intended to be. Please post your progress in the Yahoo discussion group. (I'm not the original developer, just someone who loves iComic) [alert admin]

SoundSoap 2.0.1 (Mac OS X)

User Unfriendly Company, but good software

I'll start off by saying I'm glad I don't use much software from Bias. There was no demo of SoundSoap, so I had to go by other reviews. I finally decided to buy it, but setting it up was more effort than I wanted. You MUST register to product to get your authorization code. Without the code, the software is a 14 day trial. So I was forced to give them my address and email before I could be fully authorized. Note to Bias: Offer a demo that can't save to give people a taste, and your sales will triple overnight. As for the software its self, it works very well! I was interesting in using it on some VHS video of my childhood I had imported to my Mac. The video all contained the background "hum" of the recorder, which was very distracting at times. SoundSoap dramatically reduced the hum making the video much more enjoyable. However, it did not completely eliminate all background noise. There was still a noticeable hum, but only at a very high volume and nothing compared to the near roar the original video had. My only complaint would be that the icon in the dock is not "drag-and-dropable". The reduction of hum alone made this software well worth the money. I highly recommend it for an entry level app. Professionals will probably want more power. [alert admin]

birdPodMaker 1.01 (Mac OS X)

It just organizes the songs

After visiting the developer's site, this really isn't worth $70 by a long shot. First off, it doesn't provide you with ANY bird songs. You have to own the Stokes Field Guide to Bird Songs: Eastern Region in order to use this software. Apparently all this software does is organize the songs into categories making it easier to find the bird you want. This would be very useful if you loved birds, had and iPod, owned the CDs. But $70 is way too much for me. Maybe $10-15 would be more reasonable. [alert admin]

iLyric 1.0 (Mac OS X)

A nice comeback!

I thought this little app was gone for good. I see it's made a triumphant return! It still needs some spit and polish though (the app menu says "Hide NewApplication"). Otherwise, it works good for getting the lyrics I want. [alert admin]

iTunes XHTML Playlist 4.2.3 (Mac OS X)

This is so cool.

This is the coolest thing since sliced bread. I used a playlist that had over 800 songs, and it made a wonderful webpage of the list, complete with links to the iTMS when a song is clicked on. The only thing that would make it better is a way to get commission from the sale of songs that were found using my page. Other than that, I love this app. [alert admin]

Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 7.0.1 (Mac OS X)

Improved

Much better. Fixed that main Window positioning bug when switching between screen resolutions. Also speedier. [alert admin]

QTConvert 1.4 (Mac OS X)

Installer

It would be really nice if this used Installer.app, instead of having to manually install everything. There is a reason Apple included an installer app with the OS. But otherwise, it works as it says. [alert admin]

gimp-print 4.2.5 (Mac OS X)

I Agree

Why make the version numbers so confusing? We shouldn't have to read a guide on the numbering system. [alert admin]

iComic 3.0.2 (Mac OS X)

Panther Support is here!

3.0.3 is available now. The developer has been really busy (and his Powerbook broke), and is just now getting back to normal. It is too bad he doesn't have more free time. This could be a great app, one of the greatest. It's already well on it's way. It just needs more attention, as well as the website. But, a guy's got to work, and iComic doesn't pay very well (it's free). [alert admin]

PithHelmet 0.7.2 (Mac OS X)

Best thing since sliced bread!

This is a must-have. Now I can read the news without having to look at that creepy Video professor guy. Yuck. Thanks Mike! [alert admin]

Check Times!

I had the same problem, only since the time change, it hasn't recorded any of my schedules. I'm hoping the 1.0.5 update fixes this (I'm still on 1.0.3).
