ShapeShifter 2.5 (Mac OS X)
Here are 4 apps I've found which have problems booting so you should add them to your Shapeshifter Exclude List: Bittorrent Minefield (Firefox 3.x beta) Skitch Toast Titanium 9 [alert admin]

ShapeShifter 2.5 (Mac OS X)
ok, in shapeshifter prefs there is an exclude pane, you can prevent shapeshifter from applying the current mods to certain apps before they're launched, so they're not affected. So I just added Minefield which is that unauthorized beta I told you about before, so I can still use FF3 while having the rest of my system modded by Shapeshifter. My problem now is that I can't seem to add any more icontainers to Shapeshifter. It seems to add them, I see the text and progress bar at the bottom of the window, but then after it finishes, nothing is added to the icon sets menu. I've tried quitting, I've tried restoring system defaults before adding icontainers but I can't get it to add them and I was wondering what's up. I thought maybe only some icontainer sets would be valid but every one i've tried, which is like 5 or 6, hasn't worked. Now I'm deleting all the unnecessary ones thinking maybe SS has an upper storage limit. [alert admin]

CandyBar 3.1.2 (Mac OS X)
I could have sworn I've seen Candybar around forever as far as osx goes, don't they have a version that runs for 10.4? [alert admin]

ShapeShifter 2.5 (Mac OS X)
workaround for firefox/minefield
There's like a beta release or something of updates to firefox 3.0 but for some reason with their GNPU (or whatever it's called, general users license) it's not allowed to be called Firefox and it can't have the same icon, but it's called Minefield and has a very close imitation of the icon you probably won't even notice the difference of once it's in your dock. Reset your shapeshifter theme to the default apple set, launch Firefox 3.0/Minefield, then switch your theme with shapeshifter, problem solved. Then just don't quit your browser or else you'll have to downgrade to FF 2.0.x. [alert admin]

ShapeShifter 2.5 (Mac OS X)
10.4 is fine for me, will it work?
I'm about to purchase a copy of shapeshifter, i have the latest 10.4 updates installed, I used to love using... god i can't believe i can't remember the names of the software that used to do it, but I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy a copy, but I wanna know if I'm gonna have any problems. I guess there's only one way to find out. I have several 'haxies' installed which work perfectly, windowshade and fruitmenu. other things in my SysPrefs<Other are adobe version cue, app enhancer (reqed for haxies), Deja Vu (toast), DivX (?) Finderpop, wow i forgot about that, Flip4Mac, GoogleDesktop, Growl, iStat Menus (awesome calendar to replace apples, now i know why they let you disable the menu clock!), Mouseworks, TuneKeys [alert admin]

DVD Cache 1.2.2a (Mac OS X)
Have been trying to make a DB of my movies and have tried this and other DVD cataloging apps, none of them get the job done. I just downloaded this updated version because v. 1.2.3a doesn't retain images, and the help file doesn't. [alert admin]

Savitar 1.4.3 (Mac OS X)
This app is awesome, if you have problems w/it, it's not the app's fault
I've been using Savitar for years after being forced off the olden days of using tintin++ on a unix server;this is about as good as it gets, even the free version. It does everything necessary for even a hardcore mudder. I know because I am one. There is some kind of crash bug that happens to me when I fresh boot it and open my main character (which has a huge pfile that takes several minutes to load in the start) and I attempt to use a macro (if you play the game you know what I'm talking about) but I'm in discussion with the author of this software and I'm sure it'll be worked out sooner or later. If you play Alter Aeon (the first available list in the mud list when Savitar first boots, which I play because the old muds I used to play '91-'94 aren't around any more) I'm Axl. Get to know me, I need to run in groups so i can get group xp. I also will be buying a copy when I get paid in a little over two weeks. I think it's $15. I'll have to check that. [alert admin]

Weather Vane 1.7.1 (Mac OS X)
I'm wondering why the font color in my menu bar is blue; it's harder on the eyes than regular black. I'm also wondering why there's an 8 point temperature difference between the Weather Vane menu bar and my usual weather forecaster, Meteo/Meteorologist reads. I put the same zip code in both apps. As of this moment, Meteo beats this thing, even though temperature previews are each in their own submenu along with each day's forecast. This could be better though if you could add a little more customizing ability, such as: • an option to get rid of the gay pastel blue font color in favor of black • an option to remove the temp. scale specifier (°C/°F) • add 'zip+4' for better zip code locality [alert admin]

Cantrip 0.8a16 (Mac OS X)
New Tiger version doesn't include the help files
Someone posted a URL for the tiger-ready version of Cantrip, so I got back to using it again, but much to my dismay it didn't include the extensive help files that came in the earlier versions. Would love to start using this instead of Savitar, but I need the help files since it's been years since I read them and when you select 'Cantrip Help' from the menu it opens the Apple Help viewer, but there is no Cantrip package to select. Other than that, I too would love to see an input pane scroll-back. [alert admin]

Meteorologist 1.4.4 (Mac OS X)
Thank you so much for whoever issued this patch, once again, my wonderful Meteo works! I felt so broken after it stopped working a few weeks ago. I didn't know what was wrong, so I rebooted. It still didn't work so I figured maybe some file got corrupted, so I downloaded it again and reinstalled, but still nothing. Then today I happen to check Versiontracker to see if there was a new version update, and thanks be to god, the patch answered my question! Now...for some reason, Firefox is underlining every word i type with red, telling me that it's misspelled. Oh well, I can live with that, as long as I have my up-to-the-minute weather forecast working! [alert admin]

Muchos gracias, man! I felt Cantrip was much better than Savitar but haven't been able to use it for years because i run Tiger on my desktop machine. Now I can relearn Cantrip.

So can this thing handle regexes, etc?
So yes, I realize while I'm talking to myself, I'm just thinking out loud. I'd love to help develop this piece of software but I don't really know the first thing; I've worked a very little bit with RealBasic and Windoze uh VB. Just wondering, if you're not targeting mudders, why did you use a war machine for the name? Could really use folders and subfolders in the trigger section.
