It's malware. Don't allow unethical software development to gain a foothold on the Mac platform. [alert admin]

BreakQuest 1.0.3 (Mac OS X)
multiball, Multiball! MULTIBALL!!
Well done. I've been waiting for such a good version of Arkanoid. I love the way the physics work in this - altering the properties of the barrier, the shape of the ball and so forth. However, it is quite graphically intensive, but it does run fast enough on my iBook, and of course the G5. A goos option for the developers might be to give an option for an "ultra lean" mode, where the graphics are stripped right back to the basics. This would enable the game to run on even older hardware, and have a greater audience, or to allow those with more modern systems to get the most responsiveness.
I always liked playing Arkanoid with actual rotary paddles on my Commodore 64. I don't like playing with a mouse so much. So, I may build my own paddle just for this game. Of course, if anyone knows any off-the-shelf rotary paddles that are good value, I could just buy one.
Kudos also for the developers having a cheesy backstory told in cartoon panels. However, I do miss the cheesy space-based Arkanoid backstory, and that giant-Aztec-sculpture-head thingy that ate space ships (and spewed rocks, if I remember some of the levels correctly).
I mean, a game is just not the same if it doesn't incorporate a cheesy giant-Aztec-sculpture-head. [alert admin]

Wacom Pen Tablet 4.9.0-2 (Mac OS X)
This driver is terrible. Also, I have my own Intuos tablet which I sometimes bring to work. At work, they have Graphire 3 tablets. Why can't they make a single Tablet driver for ALL models? I can't install both the Intuos and graphire drivers on the same system without getting a conflict. Further, Wacom never even mentioned once that I needed to download special drivers for Tiger. Installing the older version was a permissions nightmare. Was only after I called them that I found out. [alert admin]

Dantz Retrospect 6.0.212 (Mac OS X)
I've been using Retrospect for over 10 years. What was once a brilliant product, is now coming unraveled. I'm not sure if I trust running Retrospect under Tiger. So far, I have had the spinning beachball of death when trying to check my drive's writing ability. I also get the spinning beachball when I try to send my online product registration! If they can't even get their registration app to work without crashing, then that destroys my faith in the product.
Why can't the corporate wankers just leave the developers alone to make great products? This is happening all over the place - we have a nice, classic product, and then some buyout or reorganization of the company takes place. The product is ruined, while we get bombarded with worse advertising and gimmicks.
END THE MADNESS! If you aren't interested in great software, DON'T TRY RUNNING A SOFTWARE COMPANY. Leave the developers alone. [alert admin]

SimpleTeX4ht 0.9 (Mac OS X)
Why do you use lame "haxx0r" spelling with numerals in your application name? This may be a wonderful application, but I'm not going to even try something that supports illiteracy. [alert admin]

RadioSHARK 1.0.5 (RS73) (Mac OS X)
Like Chevyorange, I encountered the bizarre "Daylight Savings" bug. My Mac's clock automatically adjusts for daylight savings time. The radio stations I listen to, also adjust their clocks accordingly. But for some strange reason, radioSHARK actually decided to change the scheduled recording times by an hour. What the heck? Why would the software do that?
Actually, the Daylight Savings bug is the most minor bug of all. I can only get radioSHARK to record my scheduled recordings properly less than half the time. Most of the time, the recording is nothing but a perpetual half-second loop! Other times, the recorded file is not usable, consisting of a .mov file and a zero kB .m4a file - and the .mov file cannot be opened by Quicktime player or iTunes.
Other times, the file is playable in iTunes - but is still screwed up - having random skips in the audio. frequently, these skips are minutes long, making the recording unusable.
Basically, I've been ripped off. And this has all been using the latest update to their software!! This product does not work as advertised. [alert admin]

MacOSaiX 2.0a2 (Mac OS X)
This program is freeware? Incredible. Other, less generous developers would charge for this, even as just a Photoshop plugin. much gratitude to the developers! [alert admin]

Mailsmith 2.1.5 (Mac OS X)
I have a lot of need for the filtering capabilities of this app. However, without IMAP, it's a no-go. I also don't understand the $99 price tag. If they charged $33, then many more than 3x the number of people would buy this. I'm sure their sales would probably go up 10x if they charged around $30 - giving a profit increse of around 3x. I'm not sure why this company wants to cripple their sales. [alert admin]

Launch! 3.3 (Mac OS X)
Absolutely wonderful application. telstra, pull your finger out, and hire people like Jamie, insteaqd of launching loser Windows-only, non-iPod-supporting "services" like BigPond Music. [alert admin]

It seems there was a version that deleted stuff - in his "apology" he says "it has been this way since 2/7/07." That appears to imply that before then, it did delete things. He also made his apology suspiciously vague. Why doesn't he clearly state what it did do before 2/7/07 - rather than saying it is untrue, just because he changed it recently. If it did delete things before 2/7/07, then the allegations were…

I agree that reversecode should be boycotted. But I don't think the listings should be removed. They should remain so that prospective users can read the comments and know what awful software it is. If listings are removed, then some users may find out about the software by other means, and not see what this software really does. This is best fought in the open, in full view of the community, not thrown down the memory…

Do you promise, 100% that the FULL application versions of both reason and Ableton Live come with any of the Digidesign hardware you listed? I am about to purchase a hardware interface, and if this is true, then I might just choose a Digi 002 rack-mount version. I find this really hard to believe. Some of those interfaces you listed cost less than either Reason or Live alone. How are they funding this? I was going to…
