Microtek ScanWizard Pro 7.12 (Mac OS X)
Tried v. 7.12 which is recommended for my 9800XL scanner. Get an error message -122 "Internal Error: bad request for processing module." The Read Me file talks about error message -122 appearing when used without the transparency module installed, but my transparency module is installed and fully functional. Any suggestions? Microtek ScanMaker ScanWizard 7.16 (Mac OS X)
I have a Scanmaker 9800XL, and the Microtek site lists the latest driver as 7.12. Unfortunately, when I run it, I get an error message -122. Just won't work. I also bought Vuescan, and it worked for a few weeks. But now I get a really bad hang on every scan that requires multiple force quits, or a reboot after about 5% of the scan is complete. So at this point I am left with a non-functional scanner that set me back $1500 just 2 years ago. Any suggestions? [alert admin]

VueScan 8.1.5 (Mac OS X)
I bought Vuescan Pro after the manufacturer abandoned my Microtek 9800XL, and I read such good reviews of Vuescan on this site. It worked OK the first two weeks, but now it hangs in mid-scan, requiring multiple force quits or a shutdown with each scan. Tech support has been poor. Buying Vuescan was a last resort, and now I am left with a $1500 doorstop instead of a scanner. I can't understand why others at this site have rated this software so highly. I have had nothing but trouble and disappointment. [alert admin]

I'll try doing a detailed report to Hamrich with a crash log, and see if he can help me. There was an OS X update around the time Vuescan broke.

I did download the latest driver from Microtek, and was hopeful that it might work. But no luck. It freezes part-way through each scan, and requires a force quit. I have read what others have said at this site about the new driver, and it appears that it doesn't work for others either. It is outrageous that this is the only marketplace of any kind where vendors charge big money for products that…
