Driver Genius Professional Edition 2007 7.0.2358 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
OK- I downloaded V.7 - LOOKS better, but it's your money ![]()

I tried the FULL version of this program at version 5.3 and found it to be completely useless, and only partially working. (Clicking on the Download button just opened the program's own disk directory window!!) Version 6.1 was a bit better, but I will not pay to try to download the non-existant updates that it says it found. This is now version 7 and it has undergone a major face-lift - I will not be paying to try the Download section, as it still shows there are updates available that I know are not. It says that there is an Nvidea NForce for MCP61 v11.9 dated 09/27/2006 - NO! This would be rather impossible as the driver I am currently using was not released until 01/05/2007 and it is v11.09! OK, this may be one particular bad example, but I do not think it worth paying $30 to find out! [alert admin]

I didn't think this scrappy standard of software still existed! Does not work as advertised, nice idea but completely useless in operation. Says there are updates when there are none and makes mistakes with version numbers. (Does not even appear to correctly read version of drivers in local computer) They actually want you to pay to enable the downloads button to get the non-existant downloads! Avoid this completely! ;< [alert admin]

It's actually version 71.84. - If you've been put off updating your driver due to the RESTART bug that existed for many versions of this driver, it's been fixed for a while now! The driver worked OK on WinMe up to version 41.09 , then we had a long period of buggy releases that would just cause a hang up if you tried to use RESTART rather than shut-down the computer. Known buggy releases went from v.56.64 up to the one that started working again (v.66.94) when they seem to have eventually found the problem and repaired it. This release still works OK and has more bells and whistles than way back at v.41.09. Geeks will love the multi-screen capabilities, multi desktops, screen rotation and lots of other clever stuff. The user manual is now downloadable in PDF format rather than some Microsoft Office format that no-one can read unless they have the latest update of Office! (This was a real annoyance before) [alert admin]

DVD Copy Movie 1.12 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)
I used a WinMe installation on an AMD XP1800 powered motherboard. After installing, I tried to run the program - On starting Dvdcopy, an error window pops up saying Dvdcopy has caused an error in <unknown> Dvdcopy will now close Closing the window causes the computer to crash with an Invalid Page Fault in kernal32.dll, followed by either the blue screen of death or an out of memory error if you try to do anything more at all! By the way, you only get a 7-day trial licence if you can get it to work! Official response to the above from support@8864soft.com ==================================== It do nothing to your pc,if can't work, just uninstall DVD Copy, winme/95/98 is not every equable. ==================================== Helpful, yeah???
