LicenseKeeper 1.4.4 (Mac OS X)
A highly-recommend, must-have app! ![]()

These days with so many apps to track, this is a must-have. Yes, there is other software that tries to accomplish the same task, but I've tried many of them and LicenseKeeper is the best of the bunch. It's not a Swiss Army knife type of app. It's dedicated to the sole purpose of tracking your software. I really like how easy it is to update entries. And adding documents and emails about an app is really easy and useful. No more hunting through old email trying to find that receipt with the serial number. The number and the receipt is easy to find in LicenseKeeper. I also like the feature that tracks when a program was purchased, and how much was paid. I also use the notes feature for such things as recording the names of the users of a multi-user license, or what an app does, or my personal rating of an app that I own, or where I acquired the app. The developer is responsive, too. I've sent suggestions and received a personal reply. He also keeps the app updated frequently. This app is on my A list along with SuperDuper! and 1Password and Dropbox! [alert admin]

Locker Widget 1.1 (Mac OS X)
This thing is very useful! I used to have system problems but they stopped since I stopped using Fast User Switching. Now when I'm using the Mac and have a bunch of things open and a family member wants to look something up quickly in her account, I just use Locker! Highly recommeded! [alert admin]

Sparkle 1.1 (Mac OS X)
I'm a user, not a developer. This technology is so good that Apple should buy it and incorporate it into the developer's kit. [alert admin]

Horizon 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)
Good overall view of simple finances ![]()

Horizon is easy to use and provides monthly calendar views and summaries of simple finance categories. It does not attempt to track each transaction like Quicken's monthly view does, but is much more basic. It's a very good tool for parents (and teachers) to teach kids how to track what they spend. The summary view is a huge improvement and the welcome panel is a slick, professional-looking addition. Developer responds quickly to feedback and questions. [alert admin]

RapidoSerial 1.0 (Mac OS X)
RapidoSerial developer bought SerialSticker
If you go to the website for SerialSticker you'll find that the developer sold his apps to app4mac, which already publishes RapidoSerial: <http://www.eagle-of-liberty.com/index_en.php> I wrote to app4mac about some suggestions for new features but didn't receive a reply. I have since discovered License Keeper, which seems to have all the features I suggested to app4mac. RapidoSerial is free, however what's the point if it doesn't do what I need and there's no support? [alert admin]

RapidoSerial 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I like this, too. It feels like a Mac app. It asks you to select the app you want to add to your list and it imports as much info as it can. I couldn't figure out how to print (doesn't appear to have that capability yet) and I couldn't access the developer's website today in order to get the support email address. It needs some additional fields such as purchase date, cost, etc., but I'll bet those can be added easily. It will be interesting to see how responsive this developer is. [alert admin]

Keyboard Cleaner 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Sneak this onto the Macs in an unfriendly store (Circuit City, Best Buy, CompUSA, etc.) and set it as the startup app. If there are any techs in those places they will never figure it out. [alert admin]

LivingTime Personal Timeliner 2.0.6 (Mac OS X)
There IS a decent timeline app for Mac - it's Timeliner 5.0 from Tom Snyder Productions, a Scholatic company. It's designed for use in classrooms but it can be used for personal use as described by LivingTime. [alert admin]
