Great Widget guys, and guess what, it actually LOOKS nice, now I don't have to blemish my screen by opening the terminal which comes standard with OSX.
Excellent work people! Thank you very much. [alert admin]

Suitcase Fusion 12.0 (Mac OS X)
Let's see... the only thing that I can say went smoothly with this applicatoin was it's installation.
Since installing it, it crashes on start-up.
ALL of my applications crash on start-up, esp: photoshop CS2 which tells me that it has an irrecoverable error and will now exit.
So Extensis continues to BUTCHER font management and unfortunately they've purchased and butchered my all time (client time lost which equals lost revenue) favorite: Font Reserve.
I'm actually thinking of suing Extensis as I've now wasted a lot of cash and lost an immesaurable amount of time on their POS applications.
God I hate Extensis. ABSOLUTELY NEVER NEVER NEVER purchase this application. BE WARNED! [alert admin]

Don't know why I'm getting these errors. Absolutely no idea. I have absolutely no applications running, I have come off of a FRESH restart and rebuild/repair...
What gives!?

MapSpinner 1.0b5 (Mac OS X)
Love this app, but just one thing... ![]()

This app is great, it takes care of those little painful maps that I hated to have to start up a web-editor to complete when all the map applications were gone with OS9. Us hand-coders thank you.
THOUGH... I really miss the drag-and-Drop to open a file to create a map on. I LOATHE having to go through the menu system to open each file, it's a pain in the arse, especially if your server where your files are housed is a very deep rooted system with many folders. So I gave it a 3-star grade on ease of use for that.
Any way to fix this on the next revision?
Otherwise great app. [alert admin]

Adium X 0.87 (Mac OS X)
OK, I will admit that I tried Adium last year and wasn't too impressed, well, I was impressed but I was a solid user of other chat apps at the time. Now, I just downloaded this verion of Adium and I am completely blown away. I haven't been able to use it to it's fullest yet, but thus far I am more than impressed with it's functions and it's compatibility with every chat service out there. It, by far, blows Y! messenger away, it blows MSN messenger away, it also comes close to blowing iChat away, I just love the Apple applications, but when I get into this app more seriously I may change my mind on that. And it's FREE and they actually UPDATE it regularly! A HUGE thank you to these guys! [alert admin]

Firefox 1.5 (Mac OS X)
Bugs Bugs Bugs, can't we smash them yet? ![]()
![]()

OK, after installing Firefox 1.5, there are a few bugs that I've noticed which actually wound up screwing me a few times before I figured out what the problem was.
#1: Since installing this version, when I drag and drop an image from a website to my desktop, Firefox saves the image as a ".bin" file and not the ".jpg", ".png" or ".gif" files that they are. EVERY file saves as a ".bin" file, only if I right click and "save image as" does it save correctly. Although not a HUGE problem, it's just easier to drag and drop. Afterall, that's what makes the Apple experience so great... "DRAG and DROP", right?
#2: Downloading ".zip" files which have been compressed using Apple's BOMArchiveHelper through Firefox come up as "corrupt" f iles and can not uncompress using ANY application. Though when downloading the exact same file using Safari, there are absolutely ZERO problems and the files unzip perfectly fine.
#3: After a few hours of running the application and surfing, text entry areas in a webpage and including the URL + search bar up top do not allow you to type into them.
#4: Sometimes the browser just hangs and hangs and hangs when loading a page, though the same page loads quickly in Safari at exactly the same time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a few enhancement ideas...
I would like to see the "close window 'X-mark' " on each tab, ala Safari-style.
Would be nice to see the form buttons, drop-down menus, etc... look more "Aqua-ish".
Would be very nice to see when you copy and paste text from websites, that like in Safari, it maintains colors, fonts, sizes, etc... that are on the page.
Still love Firefox but can't continue to use it for work since it is more cumbersome to use now because of those little flaws as I need my browser to work flawlessly. I would think that others would too. [alert admin]

Ruined ability to run Apple applications... ![]()
![]()
![]()

OK, after fixing permissions, restarting, installing then running the update, restarting, fixing permissions again... My Apple applications (Mail, Disk Utility, Address Book, iCal and more) do not work at all, they won't even start up... when you try, the icon bounces in the doc for about 2 seconds then NOTHING... I don't know WTF happened with this update, but something's not right. This happened once before with a Panther update and removing New Times Roman font fixed the issue... since it's not installed on my system, that can't possibly be the issue here. Anybody have the same problems? Any suggestions? Ideas? [alert admin]

Adobe Creative Suite 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Addressing NeoX's hypocritical rant session...
"There are several 1 star reviews for a product that won't ship until may. This isn't right. How can you review something you couldn't have possibly used?"
There is something on the VT site called COMMENTARY and FEEDBACK... you don't HAVE to use an application to understand what those are and utililze them, that's what they are here for... in fact, the fact that features of the CS2 apps have been released in press, people have EVERY RIGHT to comment on them and whether or not it merits a CS2 title.
Perhaps it's time that you re-evaluate who actually does and does not understand the concept of Versiontracker.com.
"The tech industry changes so fast that it's not reasonable to go back very far for free upgrades."
Now you're making the mistake of misinterpreting the USE and DEVELOPMENT of a computer to the actual process of DEVELOPMENT of an APPLICATION which runs on it. Also using an app isn't anything like buying a new computer or developing it and selling it so that was a bad analogy to make there guy... computer companies PURPOSELY hold back info because their goal is to sell off as many of the OLD product as possible so they don't lose money (which they never do anyhow).
A software development company PURPOSELY leaks secrets about upcoming upgrades in the attempt to keep their LOYAL customers coming back. And when a SW company is in fledgling or development stages themselves, they ALWAYS offer great incentives to the previous customers who have been shafted by purchasing an app then an upgrade comes out soon after without being announced.
Now what you're missing is this: people are upset, and rightfully so, because they are being shafted for money as this upgrade is nothing spectacular to merit a CS2 title, especially when major bugs in CS1 have NOT even been addressed... one expects to buy a car that works properly, if it doesn't, then you take it back in for the warranty and NOT get charged for the cost of a brand new car to fix it. That's what the upgrades are supposed to be, FIXES that shouldn't have to be fixed in the first place, should have been caught before final release.
NOT ONLY THAT... but Adobe forces people to give their personal register info and that, in turn, is entered into Adobe's database with which they use it for marketing purposes – hence making more money (they do sell and use info for those purposes, I'm in marketing, I know that no matter what the privacy policy says, THEY DO sell it for profit). But yet, they don't pay us for their ability to use our personal information to make money off of, instead, they raise prices on us left and right when the core of the apps are already there and it's less work to upgrade. Not only is it less money, it's NECESSARY for them to do to stay competitive, so they shouldn't hit US with the costs of a NECESSITY for their company to survive so that the CEO's can drive around in their million dollar cars.
It comes down to a "do we shaft the customer for our our own gain" or "do we keep our customers loyal and happy and make more money in the long-run" issue... I think people are upset that it's coming down to the "shaft the customer" with Adobe. I personally agree, Adobe won't get another red cent from me until they stop forcing me to give my personal information to them.
"And the developers shouldn't have even posted this here."
My my my... you just know it all don't you! OK, well, THEY did, it was THEIR choice, and they also released the info to presses... you've attempted to tell people what they should/ should not/ can/ can not post here and now you're going to tell Adobe what they should and should not post and release? You should consider running for VP of Adobe... oh wait, you'd be fired in a heartbeat! Perhaps you should run for dictator of some communist country then you can instill martial law and then you can tell everyone what and what not to do all day long!
"...especially Go Live and I do take issue with that."
How can you possibly complain about GoLive prices raising on CS2 when you haven't even used it yet! ;-)
"So hold your judgments until you try the product..."
I divert everyone's attention to the above bold-faced commentary... anyone here smell HYPOCRISY!!!
"And don't forget if you are a student, or you have a student in the house, you can get the whole suite for around $379..."
Oh, now you're telling people to scam Adobe and use their child as a way to get a discount! Hmm... you tell us to be moral and hold our comments back then you go ahead and tell parents or siblings of a student to use their youth as a way to get cheaper prices...
Real nice!
Me thinks that you wanted to post here just because you like to rant and rave nonsensically and you think you're always right.

MacCommerce Designer 1.3 (Mac OS X)
Why should anyone NEED to talk to the tech people to find out how powerful this application really is!
While we're at it, why doesn't Adobe just scratch giving such intuitive user manuals in print or PDF format so all of us users have to call their tech team to learn how to use their applications to their fullest.
I'm skeptical to use (let alone pay $595.00 for) any application where someone states that they had to talk to the tech dept and recommends that I do the same to learn how to use the full power of any application. I just don't have the time to sit on the phone for extended periods of time whilst working, and the smart money says that most others don't either. [alert admin]

Sucker!!!!! I knew when I first started reading your post that you hadn't ACTUALLY installed or used 6.5 yet...
Sorry that when you installed it, you found that it really DOES NOT support the QT7 format "mp4"...
How about this... next time use the Quicktime application to convert media to QuickTime compliant media.
Good idea?

Some people are just slow-witted... How the heck can a spellchecker not being included be considered a BUG...
If you hadn't already destroyed any bit of credibility that you might have had, you now just did it in an amazingly cretinous capacity right here.
You're the guy in line in front of me complaining about completely useless things, holding up my and everyone else's day(s): the guy everyone wants to sock right in the face...

Jeffrey Lund,
Perhaps you're not understanding where some of us are coming from in our criticism of the "Activation Process" of applications... therefore I'll try one more to explain...
#1: Not all of us feel COMFORTABLE divulging ANY information to companies, expecially those of us who have been victim of information fraud and it has cost us thousands upon thousands of dollars in cash, time and lost credit ability.
#2: Not all of us care to give our…

Pointing out hypocrisy and lack of forethought before insulting people isn't ranting... I'm sorry that, for you, it must be tough to write an email equivalent to the one that I did, but for intelligent people as myself, it's really not that difficult, took all but 5 minutes of time... not much in my book. :-)
So insulting me and not having the ability to read what I typed for content must be tough...…
