File Buddy 9.0.2 (Mac OS X)

With Mac OS 10.6, dragging a file onto File Buddy icon in the tool bar of a Finder window still does launch File Buddy, but does not open the Info panel anymore. [alert admin]

I give up !

Lost my time trying to make a so simple shortcut for changing dictionary in entourage. Why not an interface as other macro maker use : record, stop, play. That's all. [alert admin]

NO SUPPORT !

iView is a pleasant software. But just be aware that the developpers team is not at all user's minded : - if you're in trouble, don't expect to get any support. To be convinced of this, just have a look at the users forum - the manual is poor, in the sense that it lacks a tutorial part. [alert admin]

LaCie Update Tool 1.2 (Mac OS X)

IMPRECISE, one more time

Don't people at laCie know that many big HD are partitioned ? The updater see the partitions as different HD. So, despite I had disconnected all other FireWire devices, I got the message that the updating would be unreliable because several devices are connected ! I didn't take a chance and immediately did quit. Why can't laCie say clearly if a partitioned disk can or cannot safely be updated ? Their negligence is simply hateful. [alert admin]

Il est Grand, ce "petit" script ! Tout se déroule du premier coup sans bavure : déchargement des deux players, lancement du script, contemplation de la TV. Tout cela en plus à l'oeil ! Mais j'aurais volontiers payé ma part. Qu'est-ce que j'aurais aimé disposer de cette ressource lorsque j'étais aux USA ! Bravo et merci. Et ne vous privez pas de développer ce petit bijou. iView MediaPro 2.0.3 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Most unsafe software ever seen !

This program is very appealing at the first glance. But after months of use on several thousand of pictures, I am sorry I have to say that 1) the support is nul : I never got an answer, for a suggestion or for a glitch 2) the manipulation is hitchy and any hesitation in a drag and drop could turn into a catastrophy, because there is no Command-Z for cancelling the last action 3) there is no function for controlling the integrity of a catalog, nor to rebuild it 4) the user manual is miserable : uncomplete and not didactic at all 5) the import function from one catalog to another is just blow job, as you have first to recreate by hand all your pictures sets and drag their content folder after folder 6) data disappear without warning and without obvious reason I have put a lot of hope in that program, have spent hundreds of hours cataloging, which have been ruined in a second at the moment I was saving. Very useful script

I first thought it didn't work. After fiddling a while, I found that the newly created text thumbnail does not appear in the selected set, but can be retrieved with a FIND-Last Import. Now, if Robert Busschots could keep on his way and generate a true picture for the slide show ... [alert admin]
