Youmehub 3.00.03 (Mac OS X)
I think the fact that FileMaker Pro is required should be in BOLD on the developers home page. I could not find anything on the site until I downloaded the nearly 5 MB Quick Start Guide. FikeMaker Pro 9, $299 FileMaker Adv, $499 FileMaker Server, $999 The program requires FileMaker 8 Upgrades to FM 9, $119-$599 Might as well add this cost to using the program if you're starting out. I have nothing against the use of FileMaker ... I use it for our design database (custom), but we're still using FileMaker 7 ... works fine for us. I'm all for new solutions ... I just think it needs to be CLEAR what the program requires and that additional software is needed ... and it's not cheap. [alert admin]

TabletDraw 1.2 (Mac OS X)
Don't compare apples to oranges
First, I love this program. However, it's not "better" than Painter (that's just plain silly to say). God forbid that I have anything good to say about Corel (long live Fractal Design in the hearts and minds of long time Painter users), but Painter is the BEST natural media drawing software ever ... hands down. TabletDraw IS FUN, but it does not compare to Painter. You could call it Painter "very light" ... maybe. I love TabletDraw, and it's a blast to use, but let's not compare apples to oranges. They are both good fruits, but if you want and apple, you're not gonna buy an orange. Believe me, if TabletDraw is ever a serious contender for BEST natural media software, I'll be happy to agree. QuarkXPress 7.3.1 (Mac OS X)
Worthless opinions are not appreciated
I use Quark 7.31 on a daily basis, and have been using Quark as a professional designer for over 15 years. I also use InDesign at work and for freelance. I have NO PROBLEMS getting my work done with QuarkXPress in a timely fashion and every project I do prints perfectly, satisfies my clients and makes $$$$$$$. Comments like those posted below are NOT helpful, off topic, and to me, annoying. If you use InDesign, that's fine ... have fun using it, and I'm glad it's working for you. This is supposed to be a review of Quark 8. Let's hear how it works, what's new, and if it's an improvement over previous versions of the program. If you're just going to spout off about how much better your design program is ... You're feedback IS COMMENTARY, not a review. And I'll add ... you probably haven't been a designer very long. Curio 4.2.4 (Mac OS X)
Works well for me ... always has ![]()

This is a review of Curio ... all versions. I just downloaded the 4.2.4 release, and I will be using it. Claiming that an application is worthless because you loose some data is pointless ... unless it happens ALL THE TIME. Not saying it didn't hurt ... it always does unless you back up your data regularly. I run Apple Backup every day on my curio files every day. I have never had to use any of those backups. I have used Curio for quite awhile, and I find it very useful for what I do. It does have a lot of features that I do not use, yet. I wish I had more time to play with it and get really comfortable with all the things it does ... but I work, and for that work, Curio is very helpful. BTW, I'm a graphic designer (30 yrs worth), and I have been using Macs since the Mac Classic. I do know a good useful application when I find it. I give it 5 stars ... because I KNOW it works. Curio 4.2.2 (Mac OS X)
Title says it all. I'm a graphic designer and I love this program. I find it very useful at work, and at home. I really could care less if someone else likes it, loves it, or hates it. BTW ... I could care less if it did MIND MAPPING or not! If you want to do MIND MAPPING ... do it in private or keep it to yourself, LOL. Sounds like some kind of body snatching thing anyway. JK ... chill out ... I'm not serious. I don't use mind mapping. Seriously, I love the program. I was not happy with the upgrade price and probably could have lived with 3.x ... but heck ... I like these guys, and MAYBE THEY WILL GET A CLUE ... IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE! Hope you're listening. My boss was totally disappointed with the cost ... much less paying for me to upgrade. I bought it myself [that's one out of five people who MIGHT have purchased it if it wouldn't have cost of over $650 bucks!), because I FIND IT USEFUL. Nuff said. It works WELL, it's stable, and does a lot of things that are pretty dang cool. Love it, or leave it alone. 4 stars ... because it's [rrrrr] expensive. [alert admin]

EyeTV 3.0 (Mac OS X)
I love my EyeTV. The current software works fine for me, and I see no "need" to upgrade. I would probably not even flinch at a $19.95 upgrade price, but twice that is enough to make me hesitate and say "no thanks". Some day I may upgrade my computer, but before that happens, I'm not willing to shell out $40 bucks for software I don't need. I'm disappointed that I can't upgrade for some of the features that might be cool to have, but that's the way it goes I guess. "Customer support" is important to some companies. Obviously, it's not important enough to Elgato to give their loyal customers better deal. [alert admin]

A little background ... I've been using Painter since version one. It's my primary app for creating natural media art on the Mac, and I have used it for many, many years. I would say Painter it is THE #1 application for ANY kind of art on Mac or Windowz for professional digital "artists". That being said, this is a pretty cool little application, and I stress "little" because the application size is much less than 1000 KB! It's a small app that can be used to create very nice art, and it works GREAT with a tablet. I only had to use it for a few minutes to know that if I were not using Painter all the time, I could have a WHOLE LOT OF FUN making art with TabletDraw. If you don't already have an investment (since Painter is NOT cheap), and want to try DRAWING on your computer with a tablet, you should download this application and have some fun, I recommend it. Blendit Theme 1.1.7 (Mac OS X)
This is one of the coolest themes I have ever seen — and used — for Rapidweaver. Well worth the small registration fee. Great support ... cutting edge design/programming. [alert admin]

Curio 3.2 (Mac OS X)
I've only been using this app for a couple of days, and all I can say is WOW. This is a very slick application ... very useful for the kind of work I do (Graphic Design/Illustration/Advertising). I haven't had any problems with it, and have enjoyed every minute working with it. The only thing I can think of that would make it more useful to me ... Add a calendar -- and the ability to auto paste dates and time into documents. This would be very helpful and would speed up data I need to enter often in my notes. I'm going to work this app hard for the full demo period, but I think I can say I'm 99.9% sure I'm going to purchase a professional version of Curio ... and I will recommend it to the people I work with. WoW Status 1.2.5 (Mac OS X)
ALL NA WoW servers are down [right now], and will be for the next few hours. Launching World of Warcraft shows they are offline, and unavailable. This app, WoW Status, is not indicating they are off. What's up with that? This is one of those times when real server status in the menu bar would be FANTASTIC ... but it's not working. [alert admin]

You might try choosing "Go to Developers Site" before you download software, can't figure it out, and give it a poor rating. Since you have no hesitation to slam the developer without looking for the documentation and tutorial online ... I would have to say, it is you who is lame sir.
