Shrink 1.2 (Mac OS X)

still good...

one way this is better than the javascript-bookmark (as listed below, which is great, i use it on regular webpages) is that is works on non-html files (such as pdf's and the like...) -dv [alert admin]

JewelCase 1.8 (Mac OS X)

love it, but

the latest versions (1.7) i've been having trouble with as well. i'm on a mac mini, and my roomie a powermac g5 - and we both have the same thing. 1) full screen settings don't stick. i get the size all nice, and the rotation speed the way i like, but next time around - gone. full size, full speed. 2) i get static/fuzz all over the screen until the current song clears out. this makes it especially difficult to set the settings for the next song, as i can't see the current one. my rommates suffers from the same problems as well. Media Rage 1.8 (Mac OS X)

One more piece

If you have some time, go back and look through all the feedback here. Tons of features and quick fixes that are mentioned/suggested here have been implemented. i don't think it's 100%, but knowing the app as extensively as I use it, it seems darn close. [alert admin]

Media Rage 1.8 (Mac OS X)

Gentlemen, please…

Please, when you rate a product, rate it on the whole, not nit-picky things. It seems unacceptable to me to rate it down to a 3, when it doesn't have an obscure feature. You know what, it doesn't spell-check my Word documents, either, but then it's not supposed to. Rate it on its gestalt, on its feature set, and recommend things within the programs' parameters... And encouragement goes so far. We're not dealing with Microsoft, or Adobe, here, but real individuals (not conglomerations), and many are quick to respond and happy to implement. They're artists, they want to deliver a perfect, untouchable product. The guys at Chaotic are incredible. They respond to my every email, and have even implemented things I've suggested within the same day. They aren't conceited to think what they have is perfect, but gladly take suggestions to make their product better. And they do a bang up job. The most recent complainer before me (not that I'm a complainer), will soon have some of his wishes granted (won't say which ones) and others (like encoding within the app) - I would guess not, but I have no idea. This app is for what? Read it with me, class: "organize & edit MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis audio files" (i.e. tags). Not as a LAME implementer, or an iTunes equivalent. We don't boot our machines and launch one program called Microsoft Everything that let's us vectorize bitmap art, write letters, play StarCraft, organize photos; programs have parameters. What they will do, and what they won't. And that said (my rant on the ranters), Media Rage is great. It does what it says. And very well. Has saved me hours of my life in allowing me to batch edit and organize my music via tags. Wow. It's very easy to use, and has safeguards built-in. The only thing I have any trouble using is the Convert Filenames to Tags functions (it's more programmer like than anything... I truly doubt it will stay this way, but out of 17 tools, I can hardly knock from 5 to 4 stars). Support: Incredible. The guys write back very promptly, and like I said earlier have implemented some ideas in the same day... Features: Very wide (sorry, spell-check wishers), and within parameters. And they keep adding to it. Keeping my music perfect becomes simpler, less-hands-on and shorter... Quality/Stability: They're quick to fix bugs, but I never have trouble with this app. I'm not fond of the icon, but version 2 can't be far away. And it's definitely acceptible (I don't punish acceptible). Price: $25 for 17 tools. And the tool set keeps growing? That's like $1.50 per tool. For the time saved? Easily. I would pay double. Can't wait to see what's ahead for this app. -dv [alert admin]

Fast DVD Copy 2.1 (Mac OS X)

mgvolpe answer

the answer to your question is this: your dvd player app is trying to launch upon insertion of a disc you are backing up. since fastdvdcopy has already laid claim to the disc's use by this point, dvd player gives you said error message. [alert admin]

Palm Desktop 4.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Palm, Panther and the horrible truth...

It is nice when a company (Palm) will neither admit or deny that they are not going to make software that will work with the latest Mac OS. For furhter information you can check out this article. http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/main_news.cfm?NewsID=7925 Only thing I have been able to do to fix this issue is to partition my drive and install and older OS (10.2.6 or before). So I can continue to sync. Set it up to sync to Entourage, and pulled the information over via Entourage on my Panther partition. Nothing 10 extra steps to get where your going. [alert admin]
