PithHelmet 2.8.2 (Mac OS X)
Good to go with Safari 3.1 on Tiger
I upgraded three computers to Safari 3.1. Rskinner's trick (below) worked fine on both PPC and Intel installed on Leopard (10.5.2). Interestingly, I found the trick unnecessary when upgrading a G5 running Tiger. Pithhelmet worked fine out of the gate on Safari 3.1 on Tiger (10.4.11). [alert admin]

I just installed the Safari 3.0.3 beta which load Concierge 1.4.7 just fine. Pith Helmet beta also working. I did loose my Concierge registration which hasn't happened to previous Safari updates. Concierge is indispensible. [alert admin]

Concerge and Pith Helmet are the two Safari essentials that have held me back from upgrading to Safari 3. A Safari 3 beta for Pith Helmet is available at the webside. But so far, no word from Borrowed Time about an update to Concierge. An eMail set to them on Aug 1st has, so far, been unanswered. [alert admin]

Apple Safari 3.0.2b (Mac OS X)
Safari 3...well, yes it's faster...but it doesn't change my browsing experience enough to counter the loss of Pithhelmet and Concierge. I went back (no problem) to Safari 2.x. [alert admin]

PithHelmet 2.6.7 (Mac OS X)
Apparently there will not be a quick upgrade of Pithhelmet this time. The following from Mike Solomon's website: A bunch of people have asked about support for PithHelmet in Safari 3 or Leopard. The answer for now is no - it doesn't currently work and there is no quick hack. I may be able to fix it for the Safari 3 beta, but I don't know about making PithHelmet work in Leopard - I haven't seen it and I don't have access to it. A further few have asked if PithHelmet will work in Windows - I can say that's pretty unlikely at this point. [alert admin]

PresentYourApps 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I can't get 'hide dock' to work in 10.4.9 I visited the developer's weblog and he notes the same. Generally I like the dock, but it's a pain in Adobe apps. I really want this to work! [alert admin]

MainMenu 1.7.1 (Mac OS X)
This is one sweet app. I've been running maintainance applications regularly, using both *censored*tail (own) and OnyX (free), but the quick start to MainMenu(right there in the menubar), flexible configurations, and a running log window have given this gem a home in my menubar. [alert admin]

TabStop 1.1 (Mac OS X)
This update is prime time ready. Smaller dialogue, better icon, no warning with one window open. A small feature, but one I missed when I got my MacBook. [alert admin]

MondoMouse 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)
It has been suggested by another poster that MondoMouse replaces the functionallity of MaxiMice for Intel machines. This is not the case. MaxiMice is a scrolling enhancement aka Scrollability in OS9. There is a (somewhat) similar scrolling enhancement for Intel machines called SmartScroll. MondoMouse does have essentially the same functionality as WindowDragon (free, but requireds Unsanity's APE) and Zooom. [alert admin]

WindowDragon 1.0 (Mac OS X)
The universal beta of windowdragon, 1.1b2, works fine on my Macbook. Entourage and Safari included. I have a conflict with Illustrator, but it may just be my trigger. Window dragon is my favorite of the three apps that perform this function (including MondoMouse and Zooom). I already use Unsanity's APE, so that's not a problem for me (you need APE for windowdragon). dirtbagg [alert admin]

A point-of -information, please. I too miss Maximice. But I don't see that MondoMouse provide scrolling like MaxiMice (or OS9 Scrollability).
