TuneUp Companion 1.59b (Mac OS X)

Most frustrating software ever!!!

Well as a follow up to previews review, a lot of stability issues have been resolved. A lot of new ones have surfaced. Drag 3 song to clean and it show 5. WTF? Have to drag song to clean several times before it accepts them. Changed some of my Bob Marley song to New Age others to Alternate. Warren Zevon is country? Add series of random numbers to titles, such as "08 08 08 08 08 08 Exodus" Some titles and artist are in UPPER CASE, others are in all lower case. Where do they dig up these goofy art work? Is every song from "Greatest Hits" or some "Disco Compulation"????? What about the original albums covers? Where do these guys get their data? They need to do some serious Cleaning of their data before you spend any money on this crappy piece of software. Don't worry I'll update when it's worth the buy. By the way, it's a processor hog as well. Uses up about 15% of my processors just sitting there. [alert admin]

TuneUp Companion 1.52 (Mac OS X)

So far so bad.....

Have had intermittent success but more failures. Crashing, stalling, freezing. It just took 47 minutes to "CLEAN" 17 Apple Lossless files.... I could have done that manually in about 15 minutes. Start up is S L O W.... also when switching between multiple libraries it retains the information from the last library and tries to CLEAN it onto the content of the new library. What a mess of an application this is. Can I have my money back please? [alert admin]

LimeWire 5.1.1 (Mac OS X)

Unusable

The installer places a classic application and corrupts any older installs. This way you a get a few bounces from the dock icon and that's it. Had to un-install 5.1.1 and run the 4.18 installer to get back to a functional Limewire app. Do not download and install this. [alert admin]

WireTap Studio 1.0.6 (Mac OS X)

Ambrosia will not support/update their product

I own Wiretap Pro. Every time launch it tells me a new version is available to fix bugs. The only new version available is WireTap Studio which as a $30 upgrade. My version, 1.3.2, only lists support for Mac OS 10.4.x. not Leopard. This is built in obsolescence that is designed to rip Ambrosia customers off.... I don't want to spend $70 or even the "HEAVILY" discounted price of $30 to keep up with the current OS. I already paid for Wiretap Pro!!!! All the competing titles, such as Audio Hijack Pro and Fission, which costs $32 to begin with, offer much more for less then half of what you charge for your product. So before investing in an Ambrosia product be aware that they will not support their product to be usable in the future.... unless you pay. [alert admin]

Fast DVD Copy 2.0 (Mac OS X)

$20 bucks...

Maybe worth $20 at most... until then there are plenty of other apps that are freeware that work great, though not as convenient as this one app. Never gonna dish out $100 for "convenience". [alert admin]
