Vidi 0.4.6 (Mac OS X)

works great

I have a cable tuner connected to my Intel iMac using a Sony DCR-TRV20 as analog to digital converter. The picture quality on the iMac even in full screen mode is great. Manual and timer controlled recording produced DV movies. Universal application. [alert admin]

TransMac 7.4 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

information for IntelMac users

1. TransMac does not see the Mac partition of the internal disk that is shared with the Windows XP partition. 2. TransMac does see all attached USB and firewire disks as well as partitions on these disks. 3. Reading and writing to and from the disks works fine. 4. Access to the Mac disks is only possible as Administrator. TransMac does run in the limited access account but no disks are accessible. 5. Security is great. Access to Mac disks only exists as long as the program is running. Consider MacDrive as an alternative. It is more compatible with IntelMacs and cost only $50 More information can be found here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=449755 [alert admin]

MacDrive 6.1.1 (Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2000)

limitations one should know about

overall MacDrive works as advertised but there are some limitations one should know about before buying the software. Please read the the following discussion from the bootcamp forum in Apple discussions: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2164828&#2164828 My personal opinion is that there should be more features included for a price tag of $50. For example it would be nice if one could select in the settings menu which Mac disk should be visible and which of the visible drives are read-only and which are read-write. [alert admin]
