There's a beta of a Universal Binary at http://www.derlien.com/download.php?file=dix1.0universal which works great under X.5.4 I think this program is wonderful, removes the problem of finding mysterious space users in a very elegant and convenient way. Worth a donation, IMHO. [alert admin]

PGP Desktop 9.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Eudora support claimed but not provided!
I was thrilled to see on the PGP site http://www.pgp.com/products/desktop/home/features.html that it now supports Eudora at long last!! So I purchased the upgrade and downloaded it, and the documents in the download explicitly omit Eudora as a supported email application. I've complained to PGP but get no response. I'm very disappointed. In the downloaded Read Me pdf file it says: Email Client Compatibility PGP Desktop supports the SMTP, POP3, and IMAP4 protocols. The following email clients are supported: • Apple Mail 1.3.9 • Microsoft Entourage 2004 Other email clients using the supported protocols may work, but have not been certified for use. [alert admin]

Eudora 6.1.1 (Mac OS X)
Eudora 6.1.1 installer won't update 6.1
Running the 6.1.1 installer doesn't change the Eudora application, still have v6.1 after the update. The message says the update was successful, and perhaps it changed some files but the application version and "about" info aren't updated. Tried a new installation on another drive, and that one delivers v6.1.1 as it should. Since more than the app may have been updated, it's not clear that copying the good app over the old 6.1 is safe. Anybody know? [alert admin]

send encrypted email easily with PGP 8--just select the text to encrypt, and Eudora->Services->PGP->Encrypt. However, receiving encrypted email from others isn't so smooth for me--I have to open the attachment file that's encrypted using BBEdit, select the contents and invoke PGP->Decrypt&Verify as a service, then paste the decrypted result wherever I want to keep it. Annoying, but at least it is possible! Does anyone know a smoother way?? Also, I've had one PGP crash, but it's basically working OK. Got free version then registered with my key, seems the only way to go... [alert admin]

Eudora 5.2b13 (Mac OS X)
to run Eudora under Classic because I need PGP. When will PGP be supported for Eudora under OS X? PGP's new owners have dropped Eudora from their list of to-be-supported mail software!!! [alert admin]

It's not quite that bad. True, Hao's system is awkward and confusing and inconvenient, but at least last time I upgraded and discovered I did need to go back and get the previous version, I just emailed him and he made it available to me. He says not to ask him to download the Tiger version if you've upgraded to Leopard UNLESS you are running Tiger. And that's what your situation is, so email him…
