Apple Safari 3.0.3b (Mac OS X)
Safari icon bounces in the dock for a while and then stops, but the app never opens. Very disappointing! :-( So here I am back in Firefox again. OSX 10.4.9 iMac G5 w/ 2GB RAM [alert admin]

Apple Safari 3.0b (Mac OS X)
It works great, but doesn't feel any different than version 2.
- installed without any problem on my iMac G5 running 10.4.9 - no crashes or other problems - my banking and other secure sites that worked before still work OK. [alert admin]

Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11n Enabler 1.0 (Mac OS X)
The Enabler is for Mac Pros and "Core 2 Duo" Macs. "Core Duo" (without the 2) is not the same thing!! quoted from Apple... "Many Mac computers with an Intel Core 2 Duo and all Mac Pro computers with AirPort Extreme can be enabled to access 802.11n-based wireless networks. If you purchased one of these Macs, you can use the AirPort Extreme 802.11n Enabler software to activate this advanced wireless capability. Important note: The Enabler is included free with the new AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n. If you purchase a new AirPort Extreme Base Station, you do not need to purchase the Enabler separately. These Macs have the 802.11n hardware built-in: MacBook Pro with Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook with Intel Core 2 Duo Mac Pro with AirPort Extreme option iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo (except the 17-inch, 1.83GHz iMac)" [alert admin]

DV Monitor 1.1 (Mac OS X)
If it were $12.99, this might make sense. At $129 you should probably skip it and just use a single program like Final Cut for all your monitoring, capturing and editing needs. [alert admin]

Apple Mac OS X PPC 10.4.8 (Mac OS X)
After installing 10.4.8 without incident a few minutes ago, I noticed that in the "About This Mac" window and in the "System Profiler", the serial number is no longer shown. (iMac G5 1.8GHz 17" 250GB 2GB RAM) [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.0.0 (Mac OS X)
Fixed an issue with application switch button!
With LCC 1.6.6 the app switch button on my MX300 did not switch apps; it would only tab between active fields on the foreground page in the current app. Did this with two different MX300's on two different Macs with fresh OS installs. Bizarre, to say the least, but LCC 2.0.0 fixed it. Excellent! -- MX300 mouse, OS X 10.4.6, iMac G5 1.8GHz 17" [alert admin]

MenuMeters 1.3 (Mac OS X)
trouble installing v1.3 on OS X 10.4.3
I had v1.2.2 installed and working fine on OS X 10.4.3. When I ran the new v1.3 the Uninstall and Install both failed. Then I installed Menu Extra Enabler 1.02 and tried again. MenuMeters installed OK after that. [alert admin]

I already tried deleting Safari prefs, repairing permissions. I even tried logging in as a different User. Safari 3.0.3 still won't launch.

RAID 5 on a PowerMac G4? Best to use a FireWIre 800 external HD enclosure with its own built-in hardware RAID 5 controller. Here's one example: http://www.firewiredirect.com/product/19/ There are rumors the software RAID 5 will be part of OS X 10.5 (Leopard) but even if that's true, who knows if it will work on G4.

The file is either incomplete or corrupted. Maybe try an alternate download link.

You could also enable the hidden Debug menu in Safari. It has a feature that enables it to emulate MS Internet Explorer 6 and other browers. Type the following command in Terminal (while Safari is NOT running): % defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1 Then launch Safari, and you will be able to use the new Debug menu. If you ever wish to disable it again, just repeat the command with a "0" instead of a "1".

Same for me and another Mac user... it takes two attempts for either of us to log in, every time. Annoying, but it seems to work OK after logging in.

changes to Apple web site prevent downloading updates
re "already downloaded" ... This is also a telltale symptom of the same serial number being used by more than one person.
