DNSChanger Removal Tool 1.1 (Mac OS X)

I downloaded and installed this thing and ran it as directed. It claims to have found the bug but after trying to remove it says it cannot remove the bug. [alert admin]

v5.1.7 is an unstable Developer-only release. Use v5.0.2.

As I use a Canon iP4500 I guess neither 5.0.2 or 5.1.7 will work for me. Is that correct?
