I've had it with these thieves. They now want money for functionality which I already paid for. I paid for version 3, which could create new to-dos. Now in the new version, to do that they want more money. Forget it. [alert admin]

MenuCalendarClock for iCal 3.1.8 (Mac OS X)
can't click "links" in events list
Links in the events list (the little pane that comes out beneath the calendar) look clickable, but in fact aren't. [alert admin]

MenuCalendarClock for iCal 3.1.8 (Mac OS X)
Must launch iCal to show events!
Why do you have to launch iCal for the events to appear in the calendar window? Big mistake. [alert admin]

SOHO Notes 7.0.4 (Mac OS X)
This application is an absolute nightmare. Not only does it NOT WORK, but it installs evrything under the sun, in every conceivable part of the OS. I uninstalled it but now I hope my other apps will run since I have the sneaking suspicion that upon uninstall it uninstalls things needed by other apps using OpenBase. Just don't even try it !! You Control: Desktops 1.3 (Mac OS X)
Don't buy this software! This software does not work! If I create a folder in one desktop - I can't open it! If I try to, it shakes a bit, but nothing happens. Then if I switch to another desktop I see that my trying to open the folder in the other desktop has created a meaningless "Desktop" window on THAT desktop. If I follow the procedure to send the current window to another desktop, I go to the other desktop, but the window isn't sent - only another meaningless "Desktop" window opens in that desktop. Then, I switch to another desktop - but the folders in that desktop don't appear - instead, other folders belonging to other desktops appear instead! I switch again to another desktop, but multiple "Desktop" windows appear that I never created! If in desperation I quit the "You Control engine" - I can't open any finder windows anyhow!!! I have to restart the machine!! The menubar controls are a confused mass of menus and submenus, that no-one will ever understand. Even if it worked (which it doesn't), it's a model of poor design, failure of implementation and laughable efficiency. This software is a mess, and a joke! I might as well have set fire to some banknotes this evening! How can they get away with this? DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE - YOU WILL REGRET IT INSTANTLY, AND YOU WILL RECEIVE NO SUPPORT OR REFUND. Terrible, cumbersome app. It can't even quit - I have to force-quit it with Activity Monitor. I really wish someone would write a decent version of this sort of app, because this one's just terrible. [alert admin]

Mouse Locator 1.1 (Mac OS X)
I use two adjacent 23-inch flat panel displays, and quite often I can't find the mouse cursor, so this software does help, and being free, it's hard to complain! However I feel it does the wrong thing. What would be better would be a mouse cursor that lights up, or flashes (instead of being surrounded by concentric circles) - and which does this when you shake the mouse, a la xGestures. As it is, however I tweak the configurations, the luminescent circles just appear too often, and get annoying (doubly annoying, because sometimes you do need it, but only sometimes). But kudos to the developer for the free software! [alert admin]

MacJournal 5.1b5 (Mac OS X)
The ability to have the entries show on the right, effectively making 3 horizontally adjacent panes, was exactly was I was looking for, so I eagerly downloaded the 5.1b5. There is a problem using that view, however: the right-hand-side entries pane doesn't resize properly - it stays too wide! Glad to see this option though, and hope the resizing bugs will be ironed out soon! One brilliant app! [alert admin]

You Control: Desktops 1.3 b5 (Mac OS X)
This thing about this app is that, although it looks very promising and useful, the Leopard beta (1.3 b5) completely fails to cut the mustard because of major bugs. The hot keys you set to cycle between the desktops regularly stop working. You can get them working again by selecting a different desktop from the menubar menu, but that defeats the point of hot keys. The pictures associated with each desktop regularly get mixed up - for instance, one desktop which had its own picture will suddenly show the picture of a different desktop, so you have to reset it. The same happens with the desktop icons. All in all the 'remembering' features don't work reliably at all. The "identify current desktop" command very often fails to show anything. It's not entirely clear how the app interacts with Spaces. So there are at the moment major issues with this non-freeware beta software. It would be nice if Apple extend their Spaces feature to accommodate some of this app's features. [alert admin]

This is my one absolute "must-have" for my Mac! I feel lost without it, so the Leopard update is very welcome!!! Excellent program. [alert admin]

What is this guy on? "So why would you need this" Er... easy: to secure your information from thieves, eg stuff left on your laptop? Duh! Oh yeah, and on my installation, the app discards and quits after a period I specify. So it's extremely useful. If you want to hide your p*rn then go somewheres else

This happened to me, too, so thanks for the tip! Now, I have Safari 3.0.4 installed with Leopard on my PowerBook, and I'd like to install Inquisitor on that, too (since it is advertised as compatible with Leopard). But I notice in Leopard there is no folder "~/Library/InputManagers". What do I do?
