SuperDuper 2.6.1 (Mac OS X)
With respect to CCC, Synchronize!, and the myriad other bootable backup applications (I've bought and tried many of them), SuperDuper is the best. The Smart Backup feature is fantastic and saves significant time once a first full backup is done, the interface is intuitive, and the configurable features are just right for both advanced and basic use. My happiest discovery is that the cloned backups work flawlessly, even with finicky applications. Definitely a keeper! [alert admin]

Apple Safari 4.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I tried the Safari 4 beta and disliked its (lack of) tabs and cookie management. Rendering was iffy. The beta didn't crash as much as 4.0.1, but it was still a touch-and-go experience most of the time. I hung onto Safari 3 for as long as I dared, but then finally upgraded to 4 after I upgraded to 10.5.7. Awful, terrible browser. Poor interface, much too much hanging up or crashing. Then I tried FireFox 3.5 and found it to be the browser that Safari should have been all along. Shame, that. I really like Safari for a long time. [alert admin]

EarthDesk 5.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I actually had the opposite problem than other reviewers. Previous versions were sluggish and buggy, but that was before I upgraded to an Intel machine. On my 2.66GHz iMac with 4Gb RAM, v5 has been wonderfully stable and the renderings are fantastic, even clouds. Version 4.x was a bit of a memory hog, and although v5 is supposed to be a leaner application, it still uses just a bit more memory than I would like. Still, it is a nice improvement, and I love all the new configurations. available. It would be a nice feature to be able to select a centering point by dragging rather than by cities or compass points. [alert admin]
