OK-Writer 1.1 (Mac OS X)

fantasitc for adults as well

As a medical writer, I have to use a fair number of advanced word processing features (MS Word) during the day- but when i want to write something up that's simple or edit misc. docs, I hate using MS Word. OK-writer is now my favorite word processor. this is a great program, and follows the best advice in programming- keep it simple. i'm going to recommend it to my friends and especially for elderly adults who may not be terribly computer literate. TennisAce X 3.0 (Mac OS X)

good features, but clunky interface

nice product but needs development- would consider purchasing if interface and intuitiveness is improved. good depth in features but is not not easy to use. looking forward to future developments/improvements. good start. [alert admin]

seems to work fine now. fanastic app, works like a charm. no more kernel panics much easier than audio hijack. [alert admin]

Forty-Two DVD-MP Plus 2.2 (Mac OS X)

tried several times but VERY spotty. forget it.

customer service was great, but until the bugs get fixed, forget it. I kept getting empty folders as a result of 45 minutes worth of "encoding"..... maybe the next version will be better and i'll get my money's worth. [alert admin]

kernel panic

repeatedly and consistently causes a kernel panic on my 1.25 dual gig G4. may be some problem with having audio hijack or some other audio apps installed, but after 3 kernel panics (the last one after using diskwarrior and a safe boot) i've given up. worked fine before I went to panther, also. I used to love it, and if I could get a reliable fix, I'd go back to it. [alert admin]

Sound Studio 2.1.1b3 (Mac OS X)

In general, very good

needs to be optimized for panther. occasionally freezes when working with large files. (I have over a gig of memory, so that's not it). Overall, a very good program but like previous reviewers, it would be nice to see some integration with something like Roxio Jam or Spin doctor, or maybe itunes. [alert admin]

Intuit Quicken 2003 R5 12.0.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

get Budget instead

this program sucks, not just for mac but PC as well, I've used it on both platforms and it agitated me almost as much as Windows NT from several years back. [alert admin]

Appears to cuase major problem in Tiger

i have not had any problems with Finder, but the little snithc pref pane does not allow the network filtering to start. this is odd and does need to be fixed, but not surprising. a good, simple short term solution is to just unhook from the net when you are dealing with net-sensitive things. of course, for the price i paid this needs to be addressed ASAP. thanks.
