Romi 6.6 (Mac OS X)
Lacks the polish for 15 dollars
I used this a long time ago and my wife just asked for a new version. Was disappointed to see the price for this shareware game at $15. I just paid $19.99 for Hasbro's new Monopoly game that is incredibly polished and well done. This game isn't that. I would have paid under $10. [alert admin]

Front Row Enabler 1.3 (Mac OS X)
I had this working on 10.4.7. Installing 10.4.8 disabled it again. I mistakingly tried to install before 1.3.5 was out and corrupted my OS and had to rebuild the computer. So, now 1.3.5 is out. I followed the instructions and all goes well until step 3, Enable Front Row. A dialog comes up saying the files have been previously patched by Enabler. However, I don't have Front Row available and the Preferences are not available in the Keyboard preferences. Anyone point me to information on what files need patching and how to manually apply the patch? TIA [alert admin]

I'm a very long time user of StickyBrain who upgraded to SOHO Notes to get sync capability between my macs. Too bad it just doesn't work. Ending the support forum to censure public criticism should be a very strong warning to anyone considering this product or the company. Email support doesn't exist. I never get a response. Today SOHO Notes froze my computer for a horrific amount of time while it was starting up. It was accessing the sync database... oh, did I mention this DOESN'T WORK? Well, watching the spinning lolly-pop of death isn't very entertaining. Don't buy until the support forums return and you see positive user experiences. What a waste of a good product concept. DiskWarrior 3.0.3 (Mac OS X)
Just got my copy today. I have a bad Firewire drive that another utility can read. Bought DiskWarrior instead because it was more known to me. Wrong choice. * 3.0.2 started up okay on my iMac Intel * 3.0.3 got an unexpected error when starting. Now 3.0.2 doesn't startup either, grrr. Moved 3.0.3 to my iBook (PPC) * DiskWarrior won't attempt a directory rebuild on my Firewire dirve What a waste of time and money for me [alert admin]

QIF Master 5.71 (Mac OS X)
This is one of the worst interfaces I've ever seen for a Mac app. Make a mistake, start all over. I've had no end of trouble with it converting and creating bad data like dates. Setup is horrific. Too expensive. Can it be shareware if it times out and the price is that of a retail package? [alert admin]

ClamXav 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I have had only 3 HD corrupts in decades of computer use. 2 were from Norton and a 3rd from another Norton like product. I will not have it on my Mac. I think Norton products are viruses. Anyway, I have been running unprotected (oh, my) for years on my Mac. Never a virus. In fact, I've never had a Mac virus except brought in by another user and their floppy (yes, that long ago). Safe practices on the Mac can easily lead to a virus free environment. No worries. [alert admin]

StuffIt Expander 9.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Stuffit hasn't worked reliably on any version of OS 10 for us. The archives can't be unstuffed by OS 9 users. Can't unstuff archives from OS 10 users sometimes. Like now, I came to download an update in hopes it can unstuff a .sitx archive. Then they require an email address for spamming purposes just to download the free version. I'm so glad Apple included .zip native on OS 10. Let's end this nonsense. [alert admin]

Lux 5.0.2 (Mac OS X)
Shareware games of this type should never cost this much. Never seemed like a finished product. [alert admin]

ImageWell 2.0.22 (Mac OS X)
I don’t need the editing. I just wanted the scaling and uploading. Seems like a nice, feature rich, and FREE application. Thanks for the hard work. I have to admit that the non-standard interface is unnecessarily clumsy. I also wish there was a transcript window to help debug connections. Never could get ftp to work. [alert admin]

Umm, what part don't you get? Apple is a hardware company. This is incredible for Apple: 1. Like Apple hardware but need Windoze -> buy Mac running XP 2. Voyeurism kicks in and check out the cool Apple stuff 3. Hmmm, Mac OS 10 = good, Windoze = bad 4. Switch to OS 10 for primary OS and only use Windoze when it's a must Apple has a win-win. Sells hardware and software and gets future…

Okay, does it actually do project management well????? Interface elements are important but we really care whether an expensive app can handle the task....sheesh

Can't believe this only works on 1 image at a time. Not much use as an image uploader. Too bad because I like the scaling options.

You can not do effective study with any web site. Sure, you can read but then why not just use your bible? True, someone needs to pick up the ball and resell licenses for the modern translations. The publishers aren't willing to allow it unless they can be assured their copyrights are upheld. I too can’t find much use for this until modern versions can be purchased. I hope it happens because I’d like…

Same here, what a dumb boast. This will keep me FROM using it. Kazaa is one of the worst things that ever happened to the computer industry. I didn’t realize the connection and now am unlikely to use this program.

Huh? The benefit of DVDPedia is that it searches Amazon as well as other on line databases. It doesn't have a database. It would be much BETTER if it searched IMDB instead of Amazon for it's listings. Their database is more exhaustive and more accurate user ratings. Yes it will retrieve advanced info from IMDB but I believe only if it finds the movie on Amazon.
