sixtyforce 0.9.2 (Mac OS X)

Updates?

Has anyone heard from Gerrit? His website says a new cocoa beta would be released "soon" but that was September 5th, 2008. While I'm assuming the project is dead I'm still holding onto some hope he's working on a version to take advantage of the newer Mac OS X and new Intel chipset features. [alert admin]

More Ichat Effects 2.0 (Mac OS X)

Snow Leopard compatibility? Are we sure?

Eagerly installed on my early 2008 MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6 and I can't get past the page of effects with City Lights, Clown, Coloido, Color Invert, Compound Eye, Cowboy, Crystalize, and Cube or the app I'm using (Photo Booth and iChat) crash and quit unexpectedly. Hmmm? [alert admin]

sixtyforce 0.8.5 (Mac OS X)

Better but a huge snag...

When launching 0.8.5 for the first time, it will politely tell you it wants to make a copy of your saves and will locate the copies to a new location. Okay, but now none of the saved games work. Super Mario 64, Zelda Ocarina of Time, etc. Emulation feels faster. [alert admin]

Apple iTunes 4.5 (Mac OS X)

Non-linear volume control

Has anyone else noticed the volume control is now only half as useful? the first half of it controls the volume from 0% - 20% then from half way to the end is 20% - 100%. In other words, the volume increases greatly once the slider goes past half way, but below half way, it's useless! All other features are great though! [alert admin]

Acquisition 107.2 (Mac OS X)

Completed downloads dissapear/incorrect file size

Seems like 1/3rd of the downloads (sometimes up to 3/4ths) end up with a file size of 4K when it clearly spent time to download the whole file - something's screwing up. [alert admin]

Unreal Tournament 2004 1.0 (Mac OS X)

Quitting on launch

What a horrible job testing this app - if you have an iSight, you have to DISCONNECT it in order for the app to launch and not quit right away. Finally get the app working and it's slow slow slow!! UT2k3 is BLAZINGLY fast compared to this (and UT2k3 is pretty fast.) [alert admin]

sixtyforce 0.7.5 (Mac OS X)

Cool!

Now I can play Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time!! Now I just need to get a faster G4... a 533MHz just can't do the video and audio together so well, without audio I get 20-25fps (GeForce 4MX.) [alert admin]

Caution

Same thing on my 1.67GHz G4 Powerbook, 10.4.5. Bounces in the dock then quits. Tiger Cache Cleaner has always been temperamental for me when launching- either an error about Safari needs to be updated (incorrect) or could not start the engine or something. Happens on other Macs as well, not just mine.

Woo Hoo!

Do you honestly believe Tiger is going to be released in August? Panther's release date was what, October 23rd? Seriously.... if I were to place a bet, I'd say MWSF January '05.

The New Volume Control

Moose breath?? Well I'm glad Apple listened to you and your specific problem but it seems silly - the volume range is the same (it doesn't play any louder than before) and we're talking about a volume slider not a stereo's volume knob! Sliders, by definition, in the GUI guidelines are linear not logarithmic and that should include iTunes. Honestly, the first half of the volume slider is now completely useless as the volume doesn't increase…

What kind of hardware do you need

Directly from the website http://www.sixtyforce.com/ system requirements sixtyforce requires Mac OS 9.1 or later with OpenGL 1.2 or later installed. Mac OS X is recommended. To get reasonable performance you will need a G3 or G4 with a 3D graphics accelerator. Note: The version of OpenGL that ships with Mac OS 9.0 is buggy. You must update to a newer version.

Don't buy until fixed!!!

I've had no problem defragging my HDs booting in OS 9 and running Norton Utilities 6.0.3 from a separate HD. This doesn't help those with newer Macs though. Defragging isn't as vital in OS X as it is in Win or OS 9 though.
