ComicBookCommander 1.0b2 (Mac OS X)
Holy cow, you've gotta love a responsive developer!
Thanks! I'm eager to see it continue to improve. The flashing data was driving me nuts but tomorrow I'll start entering books in earnest and see what else I can find to suggest. It's one app out of a hundred that has a response like this. Thanks again. [alert admin]

ComicBookCommander 1.0b (Mac OS X)
Still needs some basic functionality but promising
Odd bug behavior: Sometimes information displays in the upper part, sometimes not. Entering text for a new book sometimes makes the information for the old book reappear, but then it disappears again. Some fields at the top stay empty even if information was entered. Suggestions for enhancements: It would be great to have a pre-populated dropdown list for some fields with limited possible fill-ins, like genre (superhero/fantasy/horror/etc.), and for other fields to auto-fill with previously entered information. The top part should be sortable by any column by clicking on the column header. The database should save automatically. [alert admin]

MacBornes 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Crashed at the end of my first game
Played one game, won handily, and the game crashed, taking all my other apps and the whole system with it. I had to power off to get back up and running. The score dialog seemed to come up half in front of the game app and half behind. In case it helps, I had won on an extension with delayed action (won after the deck was empty), and it was a shutout. The scoring also looked wrong (what I could see of the scoresheet); I had two coup fourres but was only given the bonus for one. [alert admin]

iWorkout 6.0 (Mac OS X)
The sound quality is simply terrible. Apart from that, the voice on every track I listened to was a woman who sounded like a twelve-year-old girl. I couldn't stand to listen to her for more than a minute. Maybe the content is good, but all the hissing and static in the background were a huge disappointment. I was expecting content produced professionally. The recorded instructions are outdated, making no mention of the video iPod and in fact referring to the "iPod photo" and the "regular iPod." I have a 5G iPod and would have preferred instructions recorded since its release. The copyright date stated was 2005. The phrase "h t t p colon slash slash" was read in the instructions a few times, which sounded even more outdated. I have double-checked, and the version I tried was indeed 6.0. The installer was unclear in its instruction to install onto the iPod itself. I didn't realize there was no application, just content. I followed the installation instructions to the letter and still ended up not being able to view anything using the Notes feature on my iPod. It simply went to a blank screen labeled "iPod Applications." Even my existing notes were unreachable. Even though it didn't do anything on my iPod, I believe I listened to enough of the content on my computer to make a judgment that this isn't a product for me. I got it at a bargain-basement price, so I don't feel like I wasted any money, but it simply wasn't of the quality I was expecting. [alert admin]

dotMac Menu 2.2 (Mac OS X)
Dot Mac Menu hasn't worked for me since upgrading to Tiger. This is a huge bummer, as DMM is what makes .Mac most useful to me. This kind of menu extra should totally be built into the OS and isn't. Is there a known incompatibility with Tiger? Anyone else got it working? Any news of a planned update? [alert admin]

AutumnLeaves 1.1 (Mac OS X)
After you run the application, how do you get the leaves to start falling? I can set the preferences and everything, but nothing happens. OS X 10.3.5. To the person who asked about "behind the dock," you could just use ClearDock to get rid of the dock background so you can see right through it. [alert admin]

Oh, please. Star ratings are subjective, as is "perfect." Adium is a five-star app, and the reasons listed by the commenter above are why. It's just about perfect for MY needs; if it isn't for yours, rate it yourself, and give it a four.
