HP DeskJet 3.3 (Mac OS X)

Version Confusion & Driver "Upgrade"

The version that I downloaded from this link is 2.7.1 (which is not listed in the above "Product Version" menu). HP's site has no reference to v 3.3 and states it no longer provides it's driver directly, saying the latest version is embedded in Tiger. My experience with the embedded version is reduced functionality, e.g. I cannot find a draft mode. So I deleted the printer queue as instructed and installed 2.7.1 - it works but with same limited functionality. An unintended consequence is that the Tiger-embeded driver can no longer be found in the printer set up utility. (I've had a lot of value from this printer so I do recommend HP DeskJet. Because the version numbering and transfer to a Tiger embed is screwed up. I give a poor rating to v 3.3) [alert admin]

An excellent app.

Does all it promises. Not the most intuitive but worth figuring out. [alert admin]
