RsyncXCD 2.1 (Mac OS X)
Very useful for my lab installations & it works ![]()

The RsyncXCD 2.1 disk image contains a crippeled but bootable Mac OS X 10.2.8 (G5) containing the following Apps: RsyncX 2.1, TextEdit, System Preferences, Apple System Profiler, Console, Disk Utility, and Terminal (I added DiskWarrior 3.0.1 to have a complete repair set).
Network connections only worked via Ethernet; AirPort did not work for me - maybe the required frameworks for WLAN were too big to implement.

CPUfrequency Scripts 1.1 (Mac OS X)
Just run sysctl -a an you'll see what I am talking about...
You'll get the same results for hw.cpufrequency, hw.cpufrequency_min &
hw.cpufrequency_max
This means that the sysctl command does not work properly, a fact we already recognized when evaluating tools like "XBench"...
btw. the man pages say:
The sysctl utility retrieves kernel state and allows processes with appropriate privilege to set kernel state.
I think kernel state means actual kernel state.

CPUfrequency Scripts 1.0 (Mac OS X)
sysctl hw.cpufrequency does not work properly
With sysctl hw.cpufrequency you'll always get the maximum or the reduced processor speed regardless of the settings in the "Energy Saver" panel.
At the moment the only tool which reports the actual cpu speed correctly is Apple's Skidmarks GT (included in the CHUD Tools).

1 MHz is quite slow, I think... ;-)
No wonder if you really got 1 MHz all apps would suck...

Yeah that's correct but ever worked on a 12" PowerBook with a German Mac OS X - there is almost no space for menu bar icons.

What about Apple's Input Menu in the Menu bar?
In Mac OS X 10.3.x the Character Palette is also accessible in the Finder menu "Edit" ->"Special Characters...".

Yes - the mentioned trojan ("MP3Concept") is included for testing purposes - the file is harmless - check the ReadMe file included. chrisB (macparc.ch)

If it's free why did you give it (only) 3 stars for "Price"? ;-)
