GPush 1.1 (iPhone)

Horrid horrid piece of software

Yes its only 99 cents but it flat out doesn't work. This software couldn't even be called a beta version. After downloading and putting in the user name and password for my gmail account (that set bells off immediately) it never updated the count of unread messages in my gmail account. It didn't use its own icon after uninstalling and reinstalling but used an icon from an app that I long ago deleted. Currently there are 650 plus reviews at the iTunes store with 473 of them one star reviews...stay away from this one. [alert admin]

Clips 1.4 (Mac OS X)

Crapware at its finest.

Well I am very sorry I paid for this. Bogs down my system to no end (and I am running a MacBook Pro (mid 2009, unibody) 2.53 with 4 gbs of RAM so its not what you would call a slow system) and it takes forever to boot up when I have this program auto start upon log in. It, by default runs in the 64 bit mode and even changing it so it would open in the 32bit mode didn't solve the slow down/hanging problem. Trying to force quit this program was useless (thank the gods for Terminal and Activity monitor). Lots of eye candy within the program but not a lot of use (PTHPasteboard has the same functionality without the overhead/eye candy). Steer very clear of this program (and if I could get my money back I would). [alert admin]

1Passwd 1.5.3334 (Mac OS X)

Time save and security in one...what could be better.

From the word go this is great software. Never a problem but have heard that the developers provide great customer service. Keeps your passwords safe, will generated them for you too so you aren't using the same password over and over and over again. Installed it, installed the plug ins for Safari, Camino and Firefox (those come with it) and jsut started using it. It is a very intuative piece of software. [alert admin]

GyazMail 1.3.6 (Mac OS X)

ick

Agreeing with what others say here. Didn't like GyazMail at all. The only e-mail client that had was less appealing was Mailsmith. No IMAP (that closed the deal right there) Search engine was "pokey". It just didn't feel right. Price for this, cheaper than Mailsmith but Thunderbird (free) and Mail 2.0 (packaged with Tiger) are better values when compared to GyazMail [alert admin]

Macaroni 2.0.7b4 (Mac OS X)

Solid

Macaroni is a very solid and stable program. I never have a problem with it. It runs the overnight UNIX commands at the times listed, and with my PB it will run them when I boot up in the morning as long as the power supply is connected, not sure why it won't on battery but not a big deal as I can force the daily script. Yes I do have Onyx for the need to run something now but for just letting it run, Macaroni does it. [alert admin]

Mailsmith 2.1.5 (Mac OS X)

Even worse than Gyaz Mail

In look, feel and options Mailsmith is probably the worst of the e-mail clients. No IMAP (a deal breaker right there, yes alot of users need this function). No option to turn on HTML for the body of the e-mail. 99 dollars, are you kidding me? Barebones has som great software, Textwrangler I love and thats free and Yojimbo which even though it is version 1 puts StickyBrain to shame on many points. [alert admin]

Spell Catcher X 10.2.2b3 (Mac OS X)

Didn't like this at all

If you are using any launcher programs Spell Catcher assumes you are spelling your abbreviations wrong. It got a tad annoying after awhile so finally deleted/removed the program. This was even after changing the proper settings. [alert admin]

LaunchBar 4.1 beta 2 (Mac OS X)

Love it..plain and simple

How did I live without this or rather how did I live without a launcher. I won't compare LauncBar with Butler (I have Butler also and switch between the two as I feel like it). LaunchBar is simple to use, a breeze to set up and it works! Was well worth the price. I found it easier to set up and cleaner to run than Quicksilver (hey I said I wouldn't compare it to Butler, never said anything about Quicksilver) and wasn't as "clunky" as Quicksilver seemed. Butler 4.0b29 (Mac OS X)

Daunting a bit, helpful YES!

Again I agree, Butler can be daunting at first. I removed this and wound up purchasing LaunchBar. But I couldn't let go of trying to get Butler to work properly for me. It became a quest. Once I got it set up, and tailored to my tastes, I can't imagine not having this installed on either of my Macs. It took me probably about 45 mins to get Butler figured out and set up. It is clean and well just plain WORKS! I find myself on other Mac (heck even on other computers) trying to launch Butler. Since this is donationware, I donated. Probably the first program that I enjoyed where felt the need to do this. If you try and get discouraged, keep at it. You won't regret it. [alert admin]

Senuti 0.29 (Mac OS X)

It simply does what it is suppose to and quite elegantly

I don't think I have every had the chance to say this about a piece of software. This software ROCKS! Software developers take note of Senuti. The GUI is simple but elegant and intuitive. No trying to figure out something, looking at the help page and crying in frustration as you can't figure it out. The software just plain works. I did try a few other pieces of software before finding Senuti, including one I paid for. I wish I had found Senuti first. [alert admin]

Didn't like this at all

One of the many things I did try, with no success. It still wanted to "check" my abbreviations. I also put the launcher applications into the "ignore" (sorry can't remember the option title) file (where spell checker will use different options for different programs like Excel). I still stand by my review and asked for my money back.

One thing I miss

If LaunchBar had the multiple clipboard function I would be ditching Butler 3 nanoseconds later. Right now I have both (LaunchBar and Butler) and depending on my mood run either one (but not both). I tend to run Butler more because of the multiple clipboard function.

Tiger & iScroll2

Having same problems here with Tiger and iScroll. I have to load it again after starting my iBook. The program loads fine, does a restart and iScroll works again. Till I shut it off for a period of time.
