I like this tool. But it's a GUI for a tool which can be downloaded under the GNU license and which provides the same information. I would be willing to pay for a gui, but not 20 USD as mentioned. The command line tool costs nothing and does the same. I would like the author to reconsider the shareware fee, in my opinion something about max 10 USD would be ok. This tool shows the status of any smart capable hard disk and gives you an idea if the disc is still fit enough to store data on it. This is much better than the simple output "smart status verified" from most other tools. Nice, but not detailed enough. [alert admin]

DasBoot 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
I tried this program on a G5 running 10.4.8. Source was a Drive Genius CD (1.51) , Target an iPod 3G, connected via Firewire. The program told me it copied the stuff, but nothing is visible on the iPod ( even with the terminal ) and the pod does not seem to be blessed. I added about three additional tools to the default tools. Help please, this program would be great if it would function ;) [alert admin]

UnixExplorer 0.7 (Mac OS X)
Hm. Sounds good, but it discovered nearly none of my jpg or bmp files, is slow and the functions are only accessible via one single menue. The 2nd mouse button is not used .... Sorry, but xfolders is much better at this point. I can not see why this tool should be better than the normal finder and i can see no "windows feeling" ( i never missed it so far :D ) [alert admin]

QuickTerm 1.01 (Mac OS X)
for real usage you should implement at least some standard emulations like vt100 and vt320 ( 7 + 8 bit ) ... and i would wish a simple rz receiver ( or rx, ry ). The way it responds to CR signals sent from the host seems to be unusual, too. [alert admin]

youPod 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)
i am using youpod for a few months on several machines and i have NEVER lost any data on target computers. So what's all this about ? This software simply works... I only wish a better docu, there were a few points i could not understand from the docs alone. But AIM based support really works fine. And the amount of data which is stored on my 30 GB Pod is acceptable ... Try it and use it. I think it is worth the fee [alert admin]

NewtSync 0.3m (Mac OS X)
unfortunately this seems to be a dead product... As a german user i both wrote an email to the developer and i wrote a message in the support forum about the problems with syncing data with non us characters in it... No response after weeks. Same problems are tracked as a bug in the sourceforge page, even no respinse from the developers. This COULD be the newton application of the year.. but without support my newton is just a game machine ,-(( [alert admin]

Raptor - Air Superiority Fighter 1.1.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
too easy.. On the first try, i went thru to the last level with 3 jets left. At the end of the last level the music stops, scrolling stops but nothing more happens... What goes wrong here ? PB 667 OS 10.2.3 [alert admin]

forty-two 1.0 (Mac OS X)
will be the first real copy/rip to any format tool available for the mac... Looks great and is the first tool i saw which only had exactly the buttons which are really needed... How about a "fit-to-dvd-r" function ? [alert admin]

unfortunately the mentioned app is not as verbose in its output. I think this app is better for pre-fail-diagnostics. The underlying command-line-util shows exact states of the devices, much more than status "good" or "bad"
