Logitech Control Center 2.4.0 (Mac OS X)

2.4 Cleans H(M)ouse!

LCC 2.4 really cleans a lot of things up! No longer is there a "hidden" multiplier (mouse speed tracking) option. You used to have to right click on the mouse image in the System preference pane to access it. Now it's clearly available on the upper left side of the Configure panel. Plus it's now a slider. Used to only be a hierarchical menu item. As for other features, it's now more solid, runs smoother and I finally can get rid of Unsanity's Application Enhancer (APE) panel which was a kludgy way of doing things at best. One less Band-Aid, retro-fit utility to go wrong. 2.4 works without it! Kudos to Logitech for continuing to support the Mac platform! Google Earth 4.0.2093.0 (Mac OS X)

Jerky movement

Had to go back to the previous version (7/13). The 9/14 version is WAY to jerky as it tries to move, with long freezes between movements. Going back to the older one returns me to the liquid smooth motion. I'm using a dual 1.8 G5, Tiger. So go figure. Hopefully the next one will smooth things out again. Anyone else getting the same thing? [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 2.1 (Mac OS X)

Easy way to adjust Logitech mouse tracking speed!

Hey Swordman (and all), Evidently installing 2.1 resets the speed modifier variable. But it's easy to adjust! Don't know why Logitech conceals it like this but once you know about it, it's right there. And it's been this way for some time now so give this a try: Just right click on the image of the mouse in the System Preference pane after you select the Logitech preference. This is BEFORE you click on the "Configure" button! You will see a Speed "Modifier" menu appear! Move over it and a hierarchal menu of speed modifiers will appear! Yours is probably reset to 1X with a checkmark next to it. Just select 2X or 4X and your mouse will be as zippier as ever! :) [alert admin]

Mah Jong Solitaire 2.50 (Mac OS X)

Alert! #2 is even better!

Wait a minute! Many of you may not realize this but this is actually the FIRST version of this game. The SAME people now have the sequel to it! Mah Jong Solitaire 2! That is NOT a version number. It is 2, as in the NEXT generation of this terrific program! But it's confusing when you see that this generation is version 2.5 and the number is tacked right after the title! So heads up! If you want even BETTER graphics, even 3D graphics, SUPERIOR tiles, better gaming, etc., then check out Mah Jong Solitaire 2!! NOT "version" 2.x" as this reads. You can find 2 here on VersionTracker as well. I HOPE that this clears this up!! :) [alert admin]

Logitech Control Center 1.2.1 (Mac OS X)

1.2.1 fixes accelerated scroll bug!

After installing the newest version of the Logitech Control Center version 1.2.1, I am happy to report that the accelerated scrolling bug has been squashed! The feature now functions as it did in previous versions. What many find to be somewhat annoying is that Logitech still neglects to document what is new or fixed within these interim updates. For example, looking at the provided history documentation only mentions versions 1.1 and 1.2, and totally ignores versions 1.1.1 and 1.2.1. [alert admin]

David's Backgammon 4.9.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

Absolute-ly the best

Hey David's Backgammon players, don't you know about Absolute Backgammon from the SAME author?? If you are unhappy with David's Backgammon, he rewrote the entire thing from scratch! It's called Absolute Backgammon and it's available here on VersionTracker. Why mess around with the old clunky graphics when the new version has GREAT graphics, sound, voice recognition and yes, a VERY nice doubling cube. Go check it out and you'll toss David's old version! Logitech Control Center 1.2 (Mac OS X)

1.2 help

I have been in touch with Logitech and they are working on a fix for the broken accelerated scroll. In the meantime, just REVERT back to the good old 1.1.1 version. Just remember to first uninstall 1.2 using the supplied Uninstaller. And if you didn't have the foresight to backup your old 1.1.1 version (from now on, do so before you "upgrade' something... Lesson learned!), you can still download it, but not at Logitech's main web site. Logitech deletes older versions on their web site so it's no longer available. They do, however maintain an ftp site where you can download it at: ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/mac/lccinstalldisk111.dmg Also, here is another web site that still has the 1.1.1 version for downloading posted, but you better hurry before they decide to post the 1.2 version. http://fcg.e-node.com/logiciels_mac/000391AC-00986B8D-000391B3 [alert admin]

Marine Aquarium Time 1.1.4rc2 (Mac OS X)

Marine Time is Awesome!

This wonderful screen saver is now even MORE useful! Not only does it relax, it lets you know how long you've been staring at it! Seriously, this is a work of art and its developers deserve the paltry few bucks they are asking for it. To read a great review on this product go to: http://www.computeramerica.com/content/columns/craig/2003-04-28.htm When I want to show off my Mac's ability to produce some really great graphical images, THIS is the program I use! Jinni Zeala Pinball 1.1.7 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

If you download…

the patch from VersionTracker, you will get the error described by DodgeNeonRT. If you download the 1.1.7 patch from the LittleWing site as posted by Grbear, it works just fine. Obvious solution is to get it from the LittleWing site until such time they correct the corrupted patch on VersionTracker. No big deal. These things happen all the time. [alert admin]
