Quotient 1.5 (Mac OS X)
Crash located and fixed for next version
I have located, with the help of the reporter of the crash, the flawed bit of code: looks like the program doesn't currently place an upper limit on the scale of notation. This means that one can enter a billion for the decimal precision and the program will attempt (and fail, due to memory restrictions) to fulfill that request. I have a new version virtually ready to release. [alert admin]

... please let me know! I had one crash report, and have not yet been able to isolate the cause, but be assured that I am working on it actively. -- Andrew [alert admin]

Andrew Merenbach Wget 1.11.4r1 (Mac OS X)
The download link is *up* and *available* now. I apologize profusely for the greater-than-24-hour outage of my site and all associated files. This was horrible timing on the part of my hosting (as I'd just uploaded Wget), but that's life, I suppose. Thank you for your understanding. [alert admin]

Andrew Merenbach Wget 1.11.4r1 (Mac OS X)
Sorry to all -- the download link went down this afternoon at around 3pm Pacific due to a problem with my hosting provider. Hopefully the link will be restored within a few hours. :( [alert admin]

Hedera 0.1b3 (Mac OS X)
If you have problems, it would definitely help further development if you might e-mail me, regardless of whether you choose to leave feedback, which I won't try to influence one way or the other. I simply want to make this a good program, so do contact me with your OS and hardware setup. So far, it appears that 10.4 Intel systems are affected with a nonfunctionality bug. Any crash reports from /Applications/Utilities/Console.app would be greatly appreciated, as I do not have easy access to an Intel Mac of my own. Cheers! [alert admin]

DiceX 1.3.5 (Mac OS X)
If you receive an error at startup (and have upgraded from a previous version), you'll need to delete the "DiceX" folder under ~/Library/Application Support/. This is a necessary step due to all the changes in the upgrade. This topic is covered in the Online Help, accessible from the "Help" menu once you've opened DiceX. [alert admin]

If you're encountering problems...
If you're encountering problems, try using the "Rest" button in the main window's toolbar. That may correct any issues due to migrating to a new version. Cheers! [alert admin]

Wget 1.10.2r2 (Mac OS X)
If you experience installation difficulties, and have installed this program previously, try deleting any receipts related to Wget from /Library/Receipts and then try installing again. [alert admin]

TiMidity++ 2.13.2r1 (Mac OS X)
Missing "timidity.cfg" file error fixed
Apologies to those of you who had trouble with the use of TiMidity++ due to a "missing timidity.cfg" file. I have posted a revised version to the download link accessible from both my web site and VersionTracker. [alert admin]

Although the download link may have been fixed for the moment, the program's name should display as "X-Quotient 1.3.7" rather than "Repeating Decimals X 1.0." This is not meant as false advertising, but a glitch in the listing. I've contacted VersionTracker and hopefully all will be well soon. [alert admin]

The crash turned out to be from a lack of a limitation on the magnitude of the scale of notation. That is to say, Quotient was allowing a calculation out to a billion digits, if one wanted, which would overload the program's memory. Fixed and almost ready for release in a new version. (No users would have been affected without turning up the scale.) A couple of other potential crashes are…

In developer jargon, DiceX employs, extensively, Apple's Core Data technology, including entities from data models, and array controllers and tree controllers. These features have much more limited support--and Core Data has none--in Mac OS X Panther and below. Thus is it absolutely and unequivocally impossible to support anything below Tiger. You have my humble apologies.
