I have complained about this before, have written to the developer, have been promised an update, and have been assured that what I am reporting is probably not really happening since it works fine for them under Leopard. Phooey! It's been way over a year since the last update, and this blasted thing simply does not work now. I have an analog clock face in my menu bar, no locations display, preferences menu comes up only after two or three tries, setting date/time formats has no effect on the display. Except, as the previous poster indicates, every once in a while when I set preferences, i get the digital clock instead. I never get the date, however. Come on, people! This has been reliable, if bloated with stuff i couldn't care less about, for quite a while. No longer. I absolutely do not recommend buying this until they provide an update. [alert admin]

I think this has been unfairly criticized here. It isn't a complete re-working of the OSX file system. It's a way to set default applications for basic files. The fact that it can't parse various editions of individual Adobe packages isn't a fault at all. It simply isn't designed to do that and doesn't claim to. I think we should criticize software if it doesn't perform as advertised, but not because it doesn't have a feature you happen to want. [alert admin]

iClock 3.0.5 (Mac OS X)
iClock was working all right under Leopard until I decided to adjust the font of the date/time display. It changed to an analog clock, refused to post the date, and changed the preference back to analog clock no matter how many times i tried unchecking it and entering date/day preferences. Phooey. TNEF's Enough 2.0 (Mac OS X)
Wonderful! But Broken under Leopard
Just does not work under Leopard. Drag and drop does nothing. Launching and dropping a .dat file on the icon does nothing. Sad. Hope for an upgrade or alternative! Anyone know another utility that handles these things. I think Josh is the only programmer who has dealt with it. Sigh. [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro 4.1 (Mac OS X)
I've been using this for a long time now - several years anyway. For months it has been useful only occasionally because it crashes during or at the end of scans. Now it crashes on launch! You have sold software that simply does not work, and obviously this a general problem. What's going to happen, good old trusty Mac people??? [alert admin]

VersionTracker Pro 3.5.3 (Mac OS X)
Some product info doesn't load
Don't recall this happening often until the past few months... probably with the 3.5.3 version, but could have been before as well.... In almost every session, some of the product information will not display when I highlight a product. Sometimes it displays after a very long delay. Often it will not display at all. Usually the product above or below will display perfectly. Often this afflicts more than one product. Have not done exhaustive testing, but seems to affect only updates that have not been downloaded. Today these three will not display info (or the link to the VT web entry): iClock2, CopyWrite, and Process. [alert admin]

SpamSieve 2.2.4 (Mac OS X)
icon is of course an option. Should have known. This, I agree, is one of the best pieces of software ever! [alert admin]

SpamSieve 2.2.4 (Mac OS X)
I need to know whether this is an option or a "feature" before installing this version. Nothing would compensate for being annoyed by a bouncing icon every time I sweep for mail (every 15 minutes - with a lot of volume). [alert admin]

Very nice but over-priced and odd trial behavior ![]()

The graphics and sounds and functionality of this program are all excellent. It's fun and addictive, and everything works as it should. There are a wealth of environment options, and the game feels good. Problems for me were that it did not give me a full 30-day trial and that it seems awfully expensive. Trial was more like 10 days (although I lost count). And $25 seems a pretty hefty tarrif for a game of mindsweeper. Maybe it just hit me at the wrong time, but the price point just seems off to me. I started to buy it, but I balked. $14.95 seems more like it. I think they would sell a lot at that price. Maybe even $19.95. $24.95 feels as if I'm being gouged. That's it. If the cost is no object, you'll probably be happy with it. [alert admin]

I posted a 1-star review yesterday based on bad customer service and then learned it was a misunderstanding. Pay attention to other comments for an idea of how well you will like the program. This 5-star rating is just to correct that mistake, which i cannot delete completely. I have no complaints about it. Very attractive interface. More features in some ways than Ircle. Only thing I found it doesn't have is the ability to display full IP info in the list of Users. I had to get info on each individually. There may be an option I didn't find though. [alert admin]

Works for me except that icons are generic for most prefpanes. No problems calling up a pref pane though.

In the old days, you could call and get good help from them. I think that's the only reason I ever learned how really to work the program. The help files were never informative, and the manual was always oddly written. I THINK it's working all right for me backing up to hard drive files, but I have not attempted a restore yet. These comments have been making me very very nervous.

Thanks! I just realized I could check that in the current preferences. Should have known better anyway. This actually makes an interesting point in your favor though. I check preferences and read manuals pretty religiously. SpamSieve works so well that it has never occurred to me to check into the preferences before. That's why I didn't know about the notification. Actually, there is some interesting stuff in there. :) Thanks for a brilliant life-saver program. I used one…

I just checked a few of the 5 star ratings. They are all from people who have rated many other kinds of software and who do not give out nothing but positives. Pompompom or whatever has not posted anything else about any other software? So who is the ringer trying to make trouble? Gee, I wonder .......
