Macaroni 2.1.1 (Mac OS X)
The tool is very good! Have your file permissions repaired once a week without any hassle! It also reveals a weekness of VersionTrackerPro - if you have installed Macaroni VersionTrackerPro does not recognise it, at least not with 10.4.11. [alert admin]

TomTom HOME 2.2.1.26 (Mac OS X)
OK, version 2 of HOME does allow to work with the MapShare technology. That is what you expect when you buy the product. They managed to provide this function after several months! But: - the interface is a desaster! - has any Mac user ever used Cmd-F to quit a program?? - the backup function does not work. When you want to save data from your TomTom device you better use the Finder! - even if it would work, it tells that you can keep only one (a single) backup copy! Have the TomTom people ever read anything about backups? It seems the answer is NO! In summary: more than one star is a a walloping lie! [alert admin]

TomTom HOME 1.6.020 (Mac OS X)
Mac Support from TomTom a disaster ![]()

This version still does not allow to use the MapShare technology that was the reason for me to follow the information from TomTom adds and buy new maps! All Mac users should refrain from buying any TomTom product. I am investigating legal action against TomTom because the only answer I got from TomTom support after describing the problem with 1.5 and now also 1.6 was "go get a PC"! This version was already available to TomTom users that got the software with new TomTom XL hardware or alike. Although this hardware is advertised with the MapShare technology, you CAN NOT use it with a Mac because of the limitations of this "new" software. [alert admin]

1Passwd 2.4.13 (Mac OS X)
Excellent helper - syncs passwd's via .Mac ![]()

Since 1Passwd also supports "basic authentication" (passwd protection set by .htaccess files by the server, not by the webpage), it is really a great tool for people that come accross passwd-protected websites during daily surfing. 1Passwd keeps track about my more than 120 websites that have different logins and passwd's, and all with a single master password. Additional features allow general form filling, and the upcoming new version (1Password 2.5, currently in beta test) will also support syncing to iPhones. If you work on the web and login-protected sites regularly this is a Must have! [alert admin]

1Passwd 2.3.8 (Mac OS X)
would be very good if .htaccess would be supported
The program seems to work OK and I would really like to use it, but because of the lack of support for "basic authentication" (set by .htaccess configuration files at the webserver level) it can not be used when "basic authentication" is required. For example, when one configues a router via a web interface 1Passwd can not deal with that. Firefox does - but one needs to switch off Firefox passwd handling when using 1Passwd. [alert admin]

I got the Error message from the 7.0.5 installer as well: error code 6740.1547.10.2.25013 (please report to Adobe at the URL ..... but you will get no answer!) as well! Searching with Google only found the MacFixit thread. Why does Adobe asks to tell an error code, but does not at least explain on a website what it means?? Not to ask for a tip how to repair!!!
