I'm so completely thrilled to see that the authors of Snak have pledged to give all PayPal payments to kiva.org (http://kiva.org) Kiva is one of my favorite charities because they help by giving poor people access to small loans so they can help themselves. It's totally different than writing a check to a random charity to do with as they please. It's called micro-credit afaik So, when you pay for or renew a Snak license, the money will be sent to kiva and loaned out to someone in the third world. Each lender loans out only a small amount like $25 which goes towards the full amount that the loaner has requested. The Snak authors are even publishing their page at kiva so you can check that they actually do what they have promised. Right now they've already loaned out 18 separate chunks of money. Way to go, Snak users :-) You can read more about their pledge at http://www.snak.com/KivaPledge.html Oh, and since this is a review I better end by saying that 5.3.3 works great. I haven't updated to Leopard yet so I haven't seen the bugs that this version fixes. Snak is stable and reliable. [alert admin]

GoodPage 1.3.0 (Mac OS X)
It is just plain stupid to refuse to provide _any_ documentation for this program. It is plainly not "intuitive", or perhaps I am just not worthy to use this program. It creates a folder with two sample sited on the desktop. I wanted to see what they did so I doubleclicked the GoodPage file in the dynamic folder and was greeted with an inscrutable setup dialog. It is a complete failure on the part of the developers to think this program is so COOL that people will fight for the privilege of spending more time than necessary to learn how to use it. Totally worthless. Stagnant, buggy. The features that it does have (not enough) are buggy. Filetransfers doesn't work, searching in the channel list causes a crash. I got screen garbage with controls drawing on top of each other in the preferences. Two years since last activity ? Another lost IRC client. There's been so many over the years. [alert admin]

iRC 1.0b4 (Mac OS X)
little proggie. When it's finished and debugged then I'll bump it higher than the current 2 stars. Since both DigitalCow and Balatro refers to the developer by first name they are probably his buddys and that's why they can give this little proggie a full five stars. Judging on features, stability and polish this is a 1 - 2 star program. Potential doesn't count. [alert admin]
