ExaChess 3.1.3 (Mac OS X)

good program

Positives: Exachess has plenty of features in database management and game analysis. It is easy to use. Negatives: engines supplied aren't terribly strong, can't cope with really large databases and it's unable to read ChessBase files. [alert admin]

Shredder 9 Mac 1.0 (Mac OS X)

strong engine, poor user experience

I have the latest version for Mac - Deep Shredder 11. I found it to be a very strong engine although it drove me nuts for the first week until I worked out how to use its features. The support pdf is absolutely useless although questions were answered promptly. My advice is to wait until you have an Intel Mac and then get the PC version. [alert admin]

Olympus Camedia Master 4.1 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)

it works ok

My camera came with this and Photoshop Elements. Olympus are a good company but Camedia is an average product. It might suit PC users. ric [alert admin]

excellent!

Sigma Chess 6.1 with Hiarcs is an exceptional combination and fills a gap for Mac chess enthusiasts. It's great for analysing games and easy on the eye. Now if the developers could just get Sigma to read Chessbase files this program would be perfect. For a database I recommend Exachess.
