Hog Bay Notebook 3.5 159 (Mac OS X)
It looked pretty slick, with its aliases and links, but within a few hours I found too many crashes happening and odd screen behavior (not stepping behind newer windows) and uncorrectable long lines in columns, so I went gladly back to OmniOutliner 3 Pro. [alert admin]

Spamfire 1.4.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I do most of my work by email. Spam was bogging it down entirely. Six months ago Spamfire came to the rescue. After two weeks of tuning, plus the filter additions that keep coming with Pro, plus my own occasional tweaks, it performs ever more admirably. Its intelligent tweakability it what makes it superior, in my view. [alert admin]

iSeek 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)
Besides being a quick shortcut from anywhere to Net search, the menu options show me a number of sources that I wouldn't find myself, such as LyricTracker and Wikipedia. [alert admin]

File Dropper Eudora 1.01 (Mac OS X)
then crashed Eudora, crashed OS X.1 (!), and forgot my ISP password for me. All was eventually recovered, and I dropped File Dropper in the trash. [alert admin]
