NoAliasBadge 1.0.1 (Mac OS 9)
fine so far. Gets rid of those stupid Windows95-style "shortcut" arrows. Haven't noticed any increased instability or bugs yet. [alert admin]

mp3 tool 0.99 (Mac OS 9)
good job, except that it does something strange to the file type, which causes QuickTime Player to not recognize the file. However, I usually can get SoundApp to recognize it, which changes is to SoundApp's file type, which is recognized by QuickTime Player. [alert admin]

ALM SimpleText Color Menu 3.4 (Mac OS 9)
of cool features that should have been included in the first place. It transforms SimpleText into what could be considered a decent little word processor. [alert admin]

Snapz Pro 2.0.1 (Mac OS 9)
Allows you to capture specific parts of the screen, rather than just the entire thing. It will also get rid of the cursor for you. Older versions allowed you to take snap shots of pull-down menues, but that feature seems to be disabled in this version. [alert admin]

ePress 4.0.7 (Mac OS 9)
little program. I just wish it could make eCards that would work on Windows PCs. [alert admin]

Copernic 99 2.0 (Mac OS 9)
fun. Pleasant interface. Allows you to save your search results, something that Sherlock (in OS 8.5 anyway) cannot do. [alert admin]

been extremely reliable for me. Very few crashes, compared to older versions. It renders pages nearly as fast as Netscape Navigator Standalone 4.08, and it doesn't reload the entire page every time you resize the window. The "Flavors" feature helps to coordinate the look of the browser with the rest of the system. I also like the fact that IE can utilize ColorSync, to help insure that graphics are displayed accurately. Java works flawlessly, as long as you have the latest version of Mac OS Runtime for Java (available from Apple). Infinitely better than Netscape in that respect. The Auction Manager is great if you're an eBay junkie, and the "Favorites" (Bookmarks) are very easy to organize and deal with. IE 5 also allows you to specify your monitor's resolution, which helps assure that things are displayed properly. The program even comes with popular fonts such as Arial, Times New Roman and Verdana, assuring that web pages appear as the author intended. I was fully prepared to use IE 5 for a week and then ditch it in favor of Netscape, but I've ended up loving it, and Netscape almost never gets used anymore. iCab will have see some huge improvements to compete with IE 5. E(asy)-mail 2.5.1 (Mac OS 9)
fast. Let's you send and receive mail -- and nothing else. Probably the most basic e-mail client available. Certainly not the best e-mail program for many people, but as far as "simple" e-mail clients go, this is about as simple as they get! [alert admin]

ValueFax 2.015 (Mac OS 9)
works with most modems, has a fairly good set of features, tech support responded quickly to my e-mail. Cons: interface is very outdated-looking, setup didn't work properly, installer has no un-install feature, program stamps "ValueFax" on top of every cover sheet in big letters. [alert admin]
