SIMBL 0.8.2 (Mac OS X)
Hasn't this version been out for over a month? New build? Perhaps I'm missing something... [alert admin]

Zooom 2.0.0 (Mac OS X)
I like, and paid for, this product but cannot use it with PathFinder (under Tiger and Leopard). Still get PF crashes whenever I click on the search window when Zooom is active. Neither developer can seem to figure it out. Not a travesty for sure but I wish I could get this resolved. If anyone else had this issue and solved it, feel free to reply. thanks! [alert admin]

Scrivener 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I am a PhD student and have been looking for an application like this for years. Word is too unpredictable, bloated and constantly messes with formatting, styles etc. Scrivener helps me structure, organize and visualize my writing in a way that helps me be more effective. There is a relatively minimal learning cure compared to similar apps on the Mac. Despite the application's apparent simplicity, it offers a rich set of writing environment including an excellent full-screen mode. The user forums are among the most helpful I've seen and the developer is responsive and is also a stand-up guy. It is future-proof because all text is stored as rtf files in the application bundle, accessible via OS X and it offers multiple export options, including rtf, rtfd, html, latex, pdf (via the OS X print menu) and multi-markdown. It also plays well with DEVONthink. Highly recommended for academics, writers, researchers, poets and anyone else who need to actually "write"! [alert admin]

CoolBook 1.0 (Mac OS X)
I have used this to lower the voltage on my MacBook Pro. It gives me additional battery life while running at a lower clock speed and lower voltage than stock. YMMV [alert admin]

PD Tweaker 1.0 (Mac OS X)
Speaking of stability, the idea sounds nice but is there a way to do this without installing APE on your system? (It has been associated with instability for several applications) I would love to try this without using APE if possible. Best of luck [alert admin]

Jedit X 1.32 (Mac OS X)
The bookmarking and split window features combined with native rtf file formats make this an excellent choice for nearly anyone needing a nice feature set and cross platform compatibility. The split window feature is excellent and a real boon to my productivity. (This is lacking in so many other editors today) :-) [alert admin]

CopyPaste + yType 2.6.5 (Mac OS X)
This is an excellent application. However, version 2.6.5 has introduced a significant bug. When yType auto suggests a word, it also suggests the word rank (a number) and substitutes that number for the word if the suggestion is accepted. This was also posted to the support forum. I had no issues with 2.6.4 and will revert to that version for the time being. Hopefully it will be fixed ASAP. Otherwise this app is highly recommended. [alert admin]

I have been using this since it was called Snax. The developers have really outdone themselves on this version of PF. It is a joy to use and helps me do my work more efficiently, whether it's browsing the file system or working with multiple applications. There are lots of possibilities with PF4 and additional (requested) features already in development as well. This is a fairly priced application, for all it does and the developers have been excellent. Obviously, I cannot say enough... Highly recommended! [alert admin]

Acquisition 124.1 (Mac OS X)
Not sure what the b*tching is about..
I've used this product for some time over several revisions and, while not perfect (what is??), it has worked well for me. [alert admin]

Hi, You can set a preference under Reveal in PathFinder which should route (nearly?) all Finder calls to PF. Works for me. Good luck

For more than just forensics professionals
It sounds like a very interesting application. At a thousand dollars, it is difficult to justify "trying" the application, no matter how thoroughly it scavenges a disc.

Their upgrade policy may work for or against users. Buying a 2.x license and receiving free upgrades through 3.x is a matter of timing. Most other developers charge for full version upgrades but give point upgrades free. (Wolfram, on the other hand charge$ for point upgrades Mathematica 4.1-> 4.2 or 5.1 ->.5.2 for example).

FYI: This still occurs when reverting to 2.6.4 as well. I am not sure what else may have changed to introduce this. The first time this appeared was immediately after updating to 2.6.5.

Buggy software and lousy support
Yazsoft always answers my support questions very quickly, in the rare instance I have to make an inquiry. SD2 is a must-have piece of SW for me.

Don't use CopyPaste 1.6 until they fix the "c"
I had the exact same problem. strange. Email the developer to let them know.

Send your feedback to the developer
In my case, feedback was posted to the developer's site and emailed. This info is for others who might want to read personal reviews (good and bad) up front. the developer is great, some app features that some folks have wanted optional for a long time remain static. Variety is the spice of life eh? :-)
