Apple Mac OS X PPC 10.4.8 (Mac OS X)
3rd Party USB card still non-functional
this update went smoothly, after the double restart the system booted just fine. the only issue i have is my 3rd party USB card is still non-functional, has been ever since 10.4.5. reverting to IOUSBFamily.kext from 10.4.4 restores functionality, but then i loose all of the USB improvements made since may. first of all, i found iListen 1.6.x very easy to use. i had to train it first, but once trained i almost always hits the right word. correction done with the mouse and keyboard was easy. this software beats anything else available for Mac or Windoze.
as for the $39.00 price, it's clearly marked on the iListen site as an upgrade price. when VersionTracker lists license = update then the price listed is the update price.
finally, i completely agree with iMarc about 2 spaces after a period being outdated. as a professional typographer, i have explained to countless clients why i will not double space after a period, no matter what they were taught. with proportional spacing, periods and commas are set a little to the left of their spacing block, in order to increase the spacing after the period without having to double space. it was done that way before the monospaced typewriter, and should be done that way now.

Despite assurances to the contrary, my Apple Pro Wireless keyboard and Kensington Bluetooth mouse worked just fine under Windows XP on my MacBook Pro 1.8GHz, even in the DOS installer and even thru reboots, until i installed the Apple Bluetooth driver. After installing the Apple drivers, I had to re-pair the mouse and keyboard with Windows, but they both continue to work. They even remain paired when changing operating systems back to MacOS X. Overall I'm very impressed. [alert admin]

Isn't this already built into the application?
TIFF files are for print, and JPEG are for screen. the JPEG standard doesn't support CMYK, and doesn't support DPI. although Photoshop will let you make CMYK JPEGs, the compression algorithm is based on a RGB colourspace and artifacts are much more visible in CMYK.

Konfabulator is tha bomb. i prefer it to Tiger widgets since you can have widgets on the desktop where they are accessible any time.
