Macaroni 2.0.3 (Mac OS X)
This is a handy little app that speeds up your Mac. I won't bore you with technical details (which is not my forte). Everything good these reviews says is true and the author is really fast to respond to email questions. Months after paying the small rego fee I am still very happy I did. [alert admin]

PasswordWallet 3.0.4 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
I paid the rego, I love this neat little app, it works perfectly. It's very useful to me, I use it every day to store passwords for software and websites. Its good to know my valuable info is safe from prying eyes in the age of identity theft. The author is quick to respond to emails. I've been on Macs since the Mac 512K, and I say Password Wallet is the good stuff. [alert admin]

GyazMail 1.1.10 (Mac OS X)
The interface is easy to use and makes simple sense. It is my quick, stable email program that works. Paid the fee. [alert admin]

Safari Extender 1.1.9 (Mac OS X)
I would never pay that fee as per previous comment. But I'm really glad there are people who do pay, they are possibly paving the way for development, small time philanthropists and Mac lovers so i can't complain. I won't download myself though because my financial condition begs discretion. Tabs sound cool, but I just press apple and the squiggly key above the tab key to browse through my windows. How could it be easier to move through windows than a single hotkey anyway which Safari does? [alert admin]

Butler 4.0b3 (Mac OS X)
It seems to take a long time to start. Maybe the Butler needs a big brekky, and walking the dog before the work starts. The start-up graphic looks really Mac Classic too. If the developer reads this I would be happy to design some cool graphics in return for some shareware. [alert admin]

Web Information Saver 1.2 (Mac OS X)
It is a great idea, but not not followed through by way of the app. It doesn't do what it says it will unless I am being stupid. I tried to go to a URL but could not after several attempts. I tried to manually paste in HTML code but it would not read. It is ok if you want to copy and save text files, but I wanted an HTML library of articles to browse. Anybody know something that will do this? I have a folders crammed with arcane articles on audio or culture or cars or environmental studies or electronics, etc etc.... But often they have picture diagrams too, so being able to save HTML packets in a library with search, etc would be cool. [alert admin]

QuarkXPress 6.0 (Mac OS X)
Working in Prepress today, tried to send a ps file to the RIP of an A3 colour file and the file kept being written as 0Kb. OK, so I tried to make a PDF file because the RIP takes PDF, but the PDF didn't seperate into CMYK properly, kept dropping out the black plate? Really crap! So I used the other Mac running Os9 and Quark 5 and it did it fine. How can they justify charging $3K for this software when the entire Adobe CS pack with photoshop, etc etc and Indesign which beats crap out of Quark and costs less?. Why do these stodgy old printers stick with this crusty piece of crap software maintaining Quark's monica of "industry standard"? Die Quark Die, you are halting progress, you are hampering art. Oh yeah, plus your technical support in Australia is non-existant, well it was today anyway. [alert admin]

DSP-Quattro 1.2 (Mac OS 9, Mac OS X)
How can I evaluate the software when the Demo is Save-disabled? It's not that I don't trust it to make a perfect aiff file, no actually, it is because of that. I don't believe anything until I see (or hear) it. [alert admin]

GyazMail 1.1.8 (Mac OS X)
Have used less than a week, so far I like it the best... I used Eudora for YEARS and have looked for an alternative ever since they ripped me off for paying the fee. When you pay more than $50 for shareware you would expect to get considerable discounts off the upgrade. Not so with Eudora. But the MAIN thing is that when I send JPG attachments in Eudora, nobody on Windows can see them. Gyaz works perfectly and sends attachments fine, so important for a graphic designer that needs to submit proofs for approval and needs to look PROFESSIONAL (I swear, I did send that attachment, hang on I'll post the JPG to a webpage so you can view it - Eudora you SUK!) Gyaz has been stable on my Mac tibook 400 mhz on Osx 10.2.8 for the last week. Will post review in one month. [alert admin]
