Billable 1.2.2 (Mac OS X)

Simple but Nice

I like this product. It's easy to use and if all you need is simple invoicing, it's great. Unfortunately, it lacks some of the features I need, such as reporting and such, but the developer seems to be helpful. Also, the demo is good. You can use it fully as long as you stay under 20 contacts. It gives you a chance to really know if it will work for you. Well worth a try. [alert admin]

Accounted 1.0.1 (Mac OS X)

I'm questioning

It looks like kind of a cool program, but the demo is continuous rather than by use. I used it one day, then got busy and by the time I tried it again, it had expired. They say you can get an extension, which I emailed and got, but the code didn't work. So now that my site is online and I'm needing a program, I can't even look at it to see if I like it enough to buy it. They really need to change the demo thing to something like Billable, where they allow you to use it, *really* get to know how to use it, but only allow a certain amount of contacts before you need to buy. (It's 20 in Billable.) It's too bad, I might have been interested, but they lost my sale because they're so stringent on the demo. [alert admin]

SoundConverter 20050911 (Mac OS X)

Worked but with difficult and cheesy licencing.

I was thrilled when I found this because it was the only thing I could find to do what I wanted, convert aiff to mp3, but it took some effort and emailing to get it to work at first. Once I did, it was okay for some things, not for others, but at 10 bucks, I was happy enough. I'm not now. Apple replaced my computer because of several problems and now, evidently, I am expected to buy the program all over again because I have a different computer. I understand it's inexpensive, but that's pretty cheezy. I bought it once, I use it *maybe* 2 or 3 times a year and now I have to buy it again? If this guy wants to be a successful software developer, I think he has a lot to learn. [alert admin]
