Submerge 1.2.2 (Mac OS X)

Poor customer support

I purchased Submerged on December 5th. I had an avi movie that needed subs. I had the sub file in one of the recommended formats and tried the merge process. The program wouldn't do the subtitle merge and said the subtitle format was not recognized ??? I emailed the developer for help and advice. It has been two weeks with no response. [alert admin]

pzizz 2.1 (Mac OS X)

Panther users are out of luck

If you have system 10.3.9 or below the developers of this software have removed you as customers. While they recently had a version of their software (version 1.7) that would work on Panther, they have removed it to make room for their new upgrade, leaving MANY potential customers behind. RAR Expander 0.8.4 (Mac OS X)

RAR Expander has stopped working-

I used RAR Expander three or four times. Worked fine. Now I try to open the application and the application no longer works. The white RAR Expander window appears that tells me to "use expand in the file menu". However no menu bar appears, hence no access to an expand command and I get the spinning ball when placing the cursor over the application window. The ball spins endlessly and I have to "force quit" to close the application. It is as if the application will no longer completely load. I completly removed the application and prefs from the computer and reinstalled, restarted etc. Same result. Went to web site for support and the page for application is now blank. Support link for the application is supposed to be found on the (blank) application page. I liked the application when it was working. Too bad it's failed me. [alert admin]

Unison 1.7.1 (Mac OS X)

A Great Program

I have used this program from the start. It is easy and automatic. In the music and picture areas it groups like files, which is very helpful, as I no longer have to search for a files seperated by files posted in between. I really appreciate the fact that with the colored dot system, I can see if a file is incomplete before I download it. My IBM friends after seeing Unison on my Mac always ask, "Where can I get that for my machine?" Unison is a great program and now with uploading, it just gets better. In future additions maybe add y encoding. [alert admin]

Folder Player 1.7.4 (Mac OS X)

Program crashes when folder is dropped on it

Now that this program has a fee attached, it should be basically bug free. This version has a major bug. If I drop a music folder (with one or two songs) on the program icon, the program opens and then crashes with the message: " An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down." This then continues to occur repeatedly until I remove the preference file. Sometimes I have to install a completly new copy to get the application to open after a crash. Fix this and it will be a program I will purchase. Until then- this program is a pain ! [alert admin]

Toast Titanium 7.0 (Mac OS X)

Will Toast 7.0 work with Quicktime 6.5 ?

I am a Panther 10.3.9 user. Quicktime 7.0 (required for the new version of Toast) is not compatible with 10.3.9, so we Panther users have to run Quicktime 6.5. Does anyone know if this version will work with the new Toast ? I tried contacting Roxio to get the answer but they have no email and technical support costs $35. I called their sales number and got a person who responded with a non-confident "It should work." I use version 6 but am considering moving up to 7. Anyone out there using Toast 7 with QT 6?? Live Deskpicture X 3.0b18 (Mac OS X)

Terrible program

Used the beta. Couldn't remove the program or stop it from openning when I booted up in OSX. Finally removed the program by booting into system 9 and then removed the application from my OSX desktop. I wouldn't touch this program with a ten foot pole. [alert admin]

DVD2oneX 1.4.2 (Mac OS X)

DVD2oneX vs Popcorn

Both are good applications. DVD2oneX is much faster than Popcorn on my computer, contrary to a number of previous reviews. DVD2oneX takes between 35-55 minutes to compress a file on my G4. Popcorn takes at least 75 minutes to compress a file. However Popcorn handles "Arcoss" encryption better. Both programs are worth the money. [alert admin]
